... and I got a lot of cool dad points.

I was in line at TRU this morning and snagged the Wii Starter Pack (Tree Rex, Jet-Vac, S2 Cynder) along with Bouncer, Crusher, Swarm, and Hothead. Also came away with Chill, Pop Fizz, Flashwing, Sprocket, and Fright Rider.

Needless to say, I had one happy kid when he opened his presents. (Especially since I had convinced him that Giants didn't come out until after his party so he didn't expect them until Christmas.)

It's a good day when you see your child that happy.

Here is a pic of him on the portal. It looks like his hands should light up but they definitely don't just sitting on the portal. I don't know if it makes a difference if the game is active or not. This pic was just taken with the portal plugged in but without the game being on.

How does he play out in game?

I don't know yet. My son wouldn't stop playing Swarm long enough to try all the others much. I did see his "flamethrower" (not sure what it is actually called" and it looked pretty useful.

Yeah, forgot to make the distinction. They had the regular version as well, but my son usually tries to get one of each character and doesn't worry about the variants.
