How do Walmart pre-orders work if some Walmarts have the Glow In The Dark Starter Pack out on the shelves? Do they know who has pre-ordered the GITD Starter Packs or do they just put them up on the shelves?

My walmart's arent doing pre orders for skylanders at all. I was in yesterday and asked. The guy i spoke to, said be here when we open that day.

So it's possible those stores didnt do a pre order, and if you pre ordered online. theyre setting a certain amount aside for those orders and it'll be shipped to you. But thats just my guess.

How do you know they're setting a certain amount for the GITD Starter Packs? Not all Walmart stores have pre-orders for them

Hello, I am new to this forum. Been a lurker for a short while and decided to join the conversation.

My question on the Walmart pre-orders: I pre-ordered the 3DS GITD Starter Pack and Skylander Giant bundle. I ordered online and having them shipped to me (not store pickup). Okay the question: If I pre-ordered with the Skylander Giant, how do I know which Giant I will get as part of the bundle? Anyone understand the process for this pre-order bundle? Thank you!

@ deantjeep, every skylanders giants game comes with tree rex, is that what you mean?
@ whirlwinddragon, if you pre ordered it, like i said, im pretty sure they have to give you one with GITD cynder if thats the bundle you ordered. and by the looks of things, there is going to be a lot of them!

This is the one where you are basicly pre-paying for a giant figure; however, there is no giant specified at this time. This is the set that I have pre-ordered, but WM hasn't sent out any e-mails yet about how to claim the giant unfortunately.

aren't pre-orders from Walmart being shipped to your home address? I did not have an option to pick it up at the store. I assumed in shipment I will receive a figure that WalMart adds at their choice/discretion, which is why they say they won't guarantee what character you will get.

Walmart.com pre-order are shipping to home addresses atm but when the release date finally gets here will they begin processing pre-orders for GITD Starter Packs? Because mine still says that it's still being processed

yes so does mine, they won't process until the 21st or ship date. I think if you look at when you ordered, it says will ship on or about 10/21. Its not actual sale until it is shipped, hence it says is processing. All my pre-orders at TRU say the same thing. I have never pre-ordered skylanders, so I hope this works out. I assume they are trying to keep as many people out of the stores through the use of pre-orders because they know how crazy it will be and try to avoid what happened with SSA.

this is why i'm choosing to go to the store and pick out what i want by hand. no waiting for shipments or wondering what ill get

do you have any specifics on the Walmart midnight release? Is it as simple as midnight is 10/21 and they are going to start selling? I don't have a 24 hour Walmart close by but I found one that is about a 40min drive, so I think I am going to that one but would hate to show up and that not be the case.

call the walmart ahead of time and ask if theyre doing a midnight release. it'll be different for every area

Or you can take the weekly ad and ask if they have the figures by showing it to them

thanks. I just called them, I am not sure if he knew what the heck he was talking about. He just said they have loads of them and will be there on sat. haha. Might have to make a drive out there and ask some questions. Next time around, I am going to buy a hybrid car, to save on gas because drving around hunting for this, is putting a dent in the gas budget.

The preorders at Walmart.com are only ship to home. I ordered one online with the guaranteed extra Giants figure for $88. I asked at my local Walmart and you can preorder and layaway the GITD starter set. You can't at my Walmart. They will be open at midnight for game release.

In store you can't pre-order them but online yes
