I SERIOUSLY doubt it. I mean, what attack of his has anything to do with the crystals? Besides, why would they make a variant, Granite Crusher, that starts out with the blue crystals if he would be getting them in an upgrade anyway? Also, he has a blue hammer that doesn't have any upgrade changes. It is just a blue version of the unupgraded hammer.

a rock zook, lol... there is 16 original new skylanders in giants, buy them then give a **** about the rest.. or your wallet will break.... just saying.

Too True that's why i've only got 8 skylanders (one of each element), and will only get 8 of S:G (Tree rex, crusher hot head swarm chill fright rider sprocket and pop fizz)

hmm that really is unusual, as people have shown off the blue bouncer, and also some said they saw a black one but it was due to bad lighting, maybe it really was a black one. as these dont look like bad lighting, they clearly look black...
Edit: also their clearly blue in game, so maybe this is a variant? at which point i have to admit at-last its getting silly. variants of the variants.

It would really be worth my while if these variants were categorized into two groups. Required variants, and non-required variants. Required variants, meaning its a unique character that is part of the in-game collection, like the legendaries. And non-required variants such as the blue bash and WERDS which were just pre-leveled characters with variant skins that are not recognized in-game.

And with that, do we know if 'royal' characters are required variants? And what about the other recolors we've been seeing? Keep in mind that in S:SA, the only required variants were the 4 legendaries, and dark spyro. Also, I know that this time around, special characters like Cynder will say "Special character S2" when entered into the game, but it's still looks and is labeled as a regular Cynder when playing the game with it. How many of these variants are truly different, and how many of them are just pre-loaded characters?

There is a possibility that it is a "Royal" variant.

but that doesnt prove that she is a variant. I've done a bit of research, and I think that there are things we are unaware of. There is rumor of a character custimization in the game. And if that's true, than any recolors we see in in-game screen shots are worthless in trying to determine if these are variants. What I'm looking for, is the text in the bottom right that says "Royal [this character]"
