Re-restarting my Pokemon fan-fiction (because I feel like I could have set it up better)
Think of this as a 'restart' to the series. (AKA - The main character is Red, but with a different name)

CHAPTER 1: POKEMON, I CHOOSE YOU!

A boy woke up. "Finally. The day I get my first Pokemon!"
"Dan! Hurry up or you'll be late!"
"Coming Mum!" he replied.
He put on his clothes. A black t-shirt, blue trousers, and a red and white jacket. He also put on an official Pokemon League hat.
He ran downstairs.

"Dan. You can't always be late if you're starting your Pokemon journey!" his mum said. "Professor Oak will be out of Pokemon if you don't hurry."
"Good point." Dan said, quickly eating some cereal.
"Have you decided who you're going to pick?" she asked.
"Not yet." Dan replied. "Bulbasaur. Squirtle. Charmander. They all seem cool!"

Dan ran over to a lab. It was Professor Oak's lab.
A crowd of people were outside.
A boy stood by the gates.
"Hey Dan!" he said. "It's great you showed up to watch me get my first Pokemon!"
"Oh, hey Gary." Dan replied. "What did you choose?"
"Let that be a secret." Gary replied. "But I picked the best one! Hey, I'll battle you when you get your Pokemon. Deal?"
"Uh... Alright." Dan replied.

A man approached them.
"You must be Dan. I'm Professor Oak." he said. "Have you decided what Pokemon you'd like?"
Dan nodded. "Sort of. But I'm ready!"
"Good. Follow me." Oak replied.
He lead him inside.

They were inside Oak's lab. One Pokeball sat in the middle.
"Pick one." Oak said.
"There's only one there..." Dan replied.
"No. There's two." Oak replied. "Eevee and..."
He saw that there was only one Pokeball.
"WHERE'S EEVEE?!?" he cried.

A shadowy person ran off.
"THIEF!" Oak cried. "COME BACK HERE!"
"I'll handle this!" Dan said, picking up the remaining Pokeball. "GO!"
He threw the Pokeball.
A creature came out.
It was an orange lizard with a flame on it's tail.
"Char!" it cried.

CHAPTER 2: FIRST BATTLE

"Charmander!" Dan cheered. "Okay, use Ember!"
Charmander nodded, and spat out some Ember at the shadowy person.
They dropped something, and ran off.

"No!" Oak cried.

Dan picked up the dropped item. It was a necklace, with a red 'R' hanging from it.
"A red R?" Oak asked. "That must have been a member of Team Rocket!"
"Team Rocket?" Dan asked.
"Yes." Oak replied. "They steal Pokemon."
"Well don't worry Oak." Dan said. "I'll help get Eevee back!"
Oak smiled. "Good. And before I forget..."
He handed Dan six Pokeballs, and a red Pokedex.
"Here are your Pokeballs and Pokedex." Oak said. "Use the Pokedex to record data on Pokemon seen and caught. Try it."
Dan scanned Charmander. "Charmander, the Lizard Pokemon. The flame at the tip of its tail makes a sound as it burns. You can only hear it in quiet places."
"If you could try to get data on all 150 Pokemon, that would really help out my research!"
Dan nodded. "Rescue Eevee, collect data on Pokemon. Seems easy enough."

Gary ran in. "Gramps! I saw someone shady looking running away from the lab! Is everything alright?"
Oak nodded. "Yes. Dan has agreed to help catch the thief."
"What was stolen?" Gary asked.
"Eevee." Oak replied.

"Hey Gary." Dan said. "Ready for the battle?"

Gary and Dan stood on a battlefield.
"Go!" Gary cried, throwing a Pokeball.
Squirtle came out.
"Squirtle, the Tinyturtle Pokemon. Shoots water at prey while in the water. Withdraws into its shell when in danger."
"Charmander, go!" Dan shouted.
Charmander jumped onto the field.

"Battle begin!" Oak cried.

"Tackle!" Gary commanded.
"Counter with Scratch!" Dan commanded.
Squirtle ran into Charmander. Charmander slashed it with his claws.

"Ember!" Dan said.
Charmander shot out some Ember.
Squirtle hid in it's shell.
"Bubble!" Gary shouted.
Bubbles shot out of the shell. They hit Charmander. It was a Critical Hit!

Charmander grew weak. He collapsed.

"Charmander is unable to battle! Squirtle wins, making the victor Gary!" Oak cried.

CHAPTER 3: ATTACK OF THE 1'00" SPEAROW!

Dan and Charmander stepped onto Route 1.
"Our journey officially begins!" Dan said.
"Char!" Charmander cheered.
"Hey, you need a proper name." Dan said. "One that suits you."
"Mander, char char!" Charmander agreed.
Dan thought. "Let's say... Flare! What do you think?"
"Charmand! Char!" Charmander agreed.
"Flare it is then!" Dan cheered. "Let's go!"

They continued walking. They saw a bird Pokemon in the trees.
"Who's that Pokemon?" Dan asked, taking out his Pokedex.
"Pidgey, the Tiny Bird Pokemon. Very docile. If attacked, it will often kick up sand to protect itself rather than fight back. It is also a perfect choice to catch for a beginning trainer."
"Let's catch it then!" Dan cheered.
"Charman!" Flare agreed.
"Scratch!" Dan commanded.

Flare jumped onto the tree and scratched the Pidgey.
It attacked back with Gust.
"Pidge!" Pidgey complained, flying off.

"Darn!" Dan said. "We'll have better luck next time, right?"
"Arman, Char der." Flare replied.
"Right." Dan agreed. "It's only our first time."

Another bird Pokemon flew up to them. It had red eyes.
"Spearow, the Tiny Bird Pokemon. Inept at flying high. However, it can fly around very fast to protect its territory."
It attacked Dan with Peck.
"Ow! What's up with you?!?" Dan complained.
"Ooooowowowowowoweararearespearow!" Spearow moaned.
It continued to peck at Dan.
"Let's get outta here!" Dan said.
"Char char char!" Flare agreed.
They both ran off.
Spearow chased them.


They approached a cliff.
"I don't remember one of these being here..." Dan said. "Did we take a wrong turn?"
Spearow flew over to them and used Fury Attack.
It knocked them both off of the cliff.

A girl was relaxing by a lake.
She was with a Bulbasaur.

SPLASH!

"Great. Now I'm wet." she complained. "What was that anyway?"
"Saur." the Bulbasaur agreed.

Dan and Flare crawled out of the water.
"I've seen this somewhere before..." Dan said, spitting out water.
"Mander..." Flare moaned.
The flame on it's tail was smaller.
"If the flame on a Charmander's tail goes out, it will die."
"Great." Dan complained. "Now what?"

The girl approached Dan. "You should take your Pokemon to the Pokemon Center in Viridian City."
"Where's that?" Dan asked.
"Just head North from here." she replied.
"Which way's North?" Dan asked.
"Just through the forest." she replied. "And you should hurry. You're Charmander looks weak."
"Okay." Dan said, getting back up.
He picked up Flare and ran off into the forest.

The Spearow flew after him.

The girl and her Bulbasaur watched.
"I think we should help him. Right Bulbasaur?" she asked.
"Basaur." Bulbasaur agreed.
They ran after them.

I really like the story.

Spearow

Oh, I forgot to mention that this re-restart is doing great! The "Who's That Pokémon?" thing is working great, especially because you are doing what the anime does a lot: They show the Pokémon right before they show that very Pokémon's silhouette for the WTP, making it too obvious. Well, that's what happens when I watch it. Keep doing it, though. It's funnier like that!!!

Cool! It's spearow btw. Also when Dan says he saw this before somewhere, is that pointing towards the first two stories?

Late reply! But, he was referring to the anime.


I have not forgotten about this. New chapter tomorrow, hopefully!

I am cancelling the Who's That Pokemon as I can't be bothered to make any more. The Pokemon was Spearow.

But now for the long awaited...

CHAPTER 4: ROCKET!

Dan continued running with Charmander in his arms.
"We have to get there soon!" he cried. "Where is it?"
"Row!" Spearow cried, gaining speed.
"This Spearow is tough!" Dan said. "How can such as small Pokemon deal so much damage?"
"Because of us!"

A man approached him. He was wearing black clothes with a red 'R' on the shirt.
Dan stopped running. "Who are you?"
The man smiled. "I am a member of Team Rocket. A 'Grunt' as you may say. And that Spearow is under my control."
Spearow landed on the Grunt's shoulder.
"How are you controlling him?" Dan asked. "I see no Pokeballs."
"Boss used a device." Grunt replied. "It will hypnotize any Pokemon, and it makes them more powerful too! But why am I telling you this? You're only a kid."
He looked around. Dan was gone.
"I really need to talk less." he said with a sigh.


Dan continued running. He had made it out of the forest.
"Viridian City!" he cried. "We've made it! Now where's the Pokemon Center..."
The Grunt ran out. "HOLD ON YOU LITTLE TWERP!"
"No time to sit around and ask." Dan said, running off.

The girl and Bulbasaur stopped running.
"Where could they have gotten?" she asked.
"Saur..." Bulbasaur replied.

RING. RING.

She picked up her phone.
"Yes? Oh. Okay then. Would it be alright if you collected him yourself? Yes. Viridian City. I think it might be Team Rocket. Okay. See you soon. Bye!"
She put the phone down.
"It's almost time to say goodbye." she said to Bulbasaur.
"Ba..." Bulbasaur sadly said.
"Nevermind." she replied. "We had a great time!"

Dan ran into a building. It was a Pokemon Center.
A woman was at the counter.
"Hello. I'm Nurse Joy." she said. "How can I help you?"
"Yes. My Charmander has been badly injured." Dan replied.
"How did this happen?" Joy asked.
"He called himself Team Rocket Grunt." Dan replied.
"Team Rocket?" she asked. "They've been causing a lot of trouble recently. But don't worry about that now, we have to help your Charmander."
Two Chansey ran in.
"Chansey, the Egg Pokemon. A kindly Pokémon that lays highly nutritious eggs and shares them with injured Pokémon or people."
They put Charmander on a bed and pushed it into the next room.
Nurse Joy followed.

Dan sat down. "I hope he'll be okay."

CHAPTER 5: TRIO

Dan was impatiently walking around the Pokemon Center.

"Hello Dan! It's good to see you again!"
Dan turned around.
Professor Oak walked up to him.
"Oh, hi Professor!" Dan said. "What are you doing here?"
"I'm supposed to meet another trainer here." Oak replied. "She was using my Bulbasaur for research. Anyway, why are you just waiting here?"
"It's Charmander." Dan replied. "He was badly injured because Team Rocket Grunt."
"I see..." Oak said. "It seems Team Rocket are becoming a bigger problem each day."

The girl and her Bulbasaur ran in.
"Hey Professor!" she called.
"Oh, there you are June!" Oak replied. "I trust you've finished your research of the forest."
She nodded. "There seems to be some sort of strange power inside, but that's all I could find. It must also have been the reason Team Rocket was there."
"You are correct!"
"Who said that?" Oak asked.

Two Pokemon crashed through the roof.
"Koffing, the Poison Gas Pokemon. Toxic gas is held within its thin, balloon-shaped body, so it can cause massive explosions.Toxic gas is held within its thin, balloon-shaped body, so it can cause massive explosions."
"Ekans, the Snake Pokemon. It sneaks through grass without making a sound and strikes unsuspecting prey from behind."
"A Koffing and an Ekans?" Oak asked.
The Grunt smiled. "That's not all."

Three figures also crashed through the roof.
"Us! So prepare for trouble and make it double!"

"To protect the world from devastation!" the woman said.
"To unite all peoples within our nation!" the man added.
"To denounce the evils of truth and love." the woman said.
"To extend our reach to the stars above." the man added.
"Jessie!"
"James!"
"Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!" Jessie said.
"Surrender now, or prepare to fight!" James finished.
"Meowth, that's right!" the Pokemon added.

"Meowth, the Scratch Cat Pokemon. It is nocturnal in nature. If it spots something shiny, its eyes glitter brightly."
"Dat Pokedex forgot to mention that Meowth is also the best cat in town!" Meowth said.
"But other than that, it gave a good description." James said.
"Hey!" Meowth said, in anger.
"Shut up and fight." Jessie said. "Ekans, acid!"
"Ekans!" Ekans cried, shooting acid from its mouth.
"Bulbasaur, Vine Whip!" June called out.
"Ba ba saur!" Bulbasaur cried, attacking Ekans with its vines.

"Koffing, Sludge!" James called out.
Koffing shot out some sludge at Bulbasaur.
Bulbasaur took the hit.

Oak threw a Pokeball. "June, here!"
A purple rat came out.
"Rattata, the Rat Pokemon. It searches for food all day. It gnaws on hard objects to wear down its fangs, which grow constantly during its lifetime."
"Thanks Professor!" June said. "Rattata, Hyper Fang!"
Rattata ran towards Ekans and bit it.
"That Rattata is good prey for Ekans!" Jessie said. "Bite!"
Ekans slithered over to Rattata and bit it.
"Rattattat!" Rattata cried.
"NO!" June cried.

"Mander!"
Charmander ran in and used Ember.
Ekans fainted.

CHAPTER 6: A NEW ALLY!

Jessie recalled Ekans to its Pokeball.
"Now you've made me angry!" she said.

"Charmander? Are you alright to battle?" Dan asked.
"Charmander! Mander, char char!" Charmander replied, in joy.
"Okay then! Use Ember!" Dan replied.
Charmander shot out an Ember attack at Koffing.
Koffing fainted.

James recalled Koffing. "Why are our Pokemon so weak?"
"They say a Pokemon is only as strong as their trainer." Oak replied.
"AND WHAT IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN?!?" Jessie screamed.
"Guys! Chill out." Meowth said. "We may not have stolen anything, but there's still Pewter City!"
"You're right." James replied. "And I guess that Eevee from earlier was also a big score."
"Wait, you were the ones to steal Eevee?!?" Oak asked.
"No." Jessie replied. "That was the rookie."
"And it seems like the rookie is already doing a better job than us..." Meowth replied. "So we should get busy!"

The three put on jetpacks and flew off.

"Freaks." Dan said.
"Dan." Oak said. "Now we know that Team Rocket have stolen Eevee. I think you should follow them into Pewter City."
Dan nodded. "Good idea."
"Char char!" Charmander agreed.

"Oh yeah, I guess you want Bulbasaur back now..." June said.
"Basaur..." Bulbasaur added.
"Don't worry about it." Oak replied. "Bulbasaur seems happy enough with you. I don't want to break up some friends."
"For real?" June asked.
"Yes." Oak replied. "Just remember to take care of him."
"Okay!" June replied.
"Saur!" Bulbasaur replied.

Dan and Charmander approached Viridian Forest.
"You ready?" Dan asked.
"Char." Charmander replied, nodding his head.

"WAAAIIIIIT!"
June ran over to them.
"Would it be okay if I came along with you on your journey?" she asked.
"Sure." Dan replied. "But why?"
"Well I've never had the chance to go on a Pokemon Journey before." June replied. "And I'm kind of scared to do it on my own."
"Oh, well that makes sense." Dan replied. "The more the merrier, anyway!"

Rustle...

"What's that?" Dan asked.
"Chu..." a voice said.
