I don't actually have a deviantart account, but I still enjoy drawing for fun. I've been trying to draw the faces of various Skylanders, and this is the only one I've got so far.



I've always been a fan of very thick black lines in drawings, but I also really like the colouring book style colouring found in Kirby's Dream Land 3 and the Japanese only Super Famicom Kirby game "Kirby KiraKira Kids". I'm also a fan of exaggerated expressions, so I tend to do whatever I like to a face of a character regardless of whether or not that character's face could realisticly do that. I treat my drawings the way I feel they should be treated, which is as cartoon characters. With cartoon characters you can cheat with the anatomy so long as it gives you the look you want, and shouldn't be taken as an exact science. Besides, I just draw for my own fun, so I'm not taking it overly seriously to begin with. Still, I felt I could show off whatever skylander drawings I end up doing in this thread, so hopefully I'll have some more ready some time soon. : )

That turned out neat. I like the background and the way you colored everything in.

I'm currently working on a wave 1 Skylanders Giants checklist for the members of DarkSpyro to use. Here's a very early picture to give you an idea what it will be like.



That character has nothing to do with Skylanders, but she's an original character of mine called Lynda, and I like to throw her into drawings whenever I can. If you can't tell, the body shape was inspired by the Kirby anime. Though the character herself was NOT based on Tiff/Fumu from the same show.

I hope to have this done by the time Giants comes out, so stick around. Should I include variants such as Legendary Bouncer, Gold Flameslinger and Granite Crusher? Or should I just include the regular characters? Personally I like the idea of not including the variants, that way people who don't collect them can still fill the checklist if they want everything else.

I'm intrigued to see this checklist. And personally, I would include variants, but I think most people don't include them in their own lists, so naw.

This art is nice! And whether you include the variants or not depends on how many there will be.

This is all I could fit on one sheet of paper, so I'll have to put series 2/lightcore characters on a separate sheet. That's fine, because if it's split up, that means I could do a separate sheet for the wave 1 variants too if I feel like it by the time I'm done with all this.

Still needs to be inked and coloured, but here's the original pencil drawing.
