Now that we know the Wii U is coming on November 18th (USA) shouldn't they give us a date for Skylanders Giants? Has anyone heard a date?

IGN's Wii U Wiki says it will be out within the launch period in America(4 months within console release). But I don't think there's even a source for it. So no, we don't know.
It really sucks, because I want to play that version ASAP. I'd love to see Skylanders in HD very soon.

Street date in USA is November 13th for Skylanders Giants on Wii U. You can pre-order at www.gamestop.com or order at your local store for pickup 5 days before the Wii U console is released. Same figures as other starter packs. I wish they would have put an exclusive in it. Only comes in starter pack.

It says Wii Games work on WII U so why a separate starter Pack

^ Because the Wii U version of the game will utilize the Wii U game pad and not just a Wii remote like the Wii version. The Wii U version will also be higher resolution and give out a better picture quality because the Wii is only 480p and most Wii U games run at 720p but the system can run up to 1080p. So why buy the lower, outdated version of the game for the Wii when you can get a updated version for the Wii U (especially if you already planned to get the Wii U at launch)?

Plus they have to have the Wii version available for those who don't have a Wii U and the Wii U version for the people that want to play it on the Wii U. Think of it kind of like how the Wii can play GameCube games and if there was a GameCube version of the game and a Wii version, you could buy the GameCube version of the game for your Wii but it would not have as high resolution as the Wii version and you would have to play it on a GameCube controller instead of the updated Wii mote.

The game WILL be out at launch. Nat Loh on Twitter is a senior designer at Toys for Bob and he mentioned the Wii U version being available at launch.
