portal of power cable question. [CLOSED]

Ok this might be a stupid question but here goes:

someone said a while back that the cabled portals connects like the xbox version.

now heres what I would like to know(in pictures please)

what does the connection between the S:SA xbox portal and the cable look like. Is it detachable and can be stored away in a safe palce when not in use or is it connected directly to the portal and cannot be removed like a lamp cord?

I have a cat that loves to chew soft plastic and gets into everything. I would like to know so I can figure out how to keep it out of his reach(and not have to go through telephone trees).

Well you could always resort to amazon/eBay for wireless portal of powers for wii/PS3 from the original game.

If that is not an exaggeration, then you have a faulty portal as the batteries should last significantly longer than that.
