In Colossus, Brother Ned said "Even though I'm a vegatarian, I think you should kill that yeti..."

But in the dialogue box text, Brother Ned said "torch", not kill lol And even though I had played the game so many times in the past, I had never paid attention to his dialogue until now.

Did anyone else catch that? X3

Probably cause kill is too violent for little kids and they might not understand what torch means.

On my version of Spyro 2, he just says "Kill" anyway. So maybe that's a difference between the US and the UK version, lol.

I noticed it ever since I first played it.

Me to and it was werd though the guy says kill and the text says torch I wonder why the devolopers didn't fix that.

Kill is such a harsh word D:

Even today subtitles and voices sometimes differ. I usually take it as an indication the VA for the character did a little bit of improvisation and the voice director kept it in. Stuff like this is rampant in Valve games, especially with Wheatley.

Also, even if "kill" is a "harsh" word, this was back in a time where games weren't nearly as heavily scrutinized over their content.

Nope.

Because seeing something typically gets burned into your brain a lot easier than hearing it. They did it on purpose. "Torch" is a word they used as a synonym that's fitting for our main character. I think the only flaw here is how much
emphasis is put on "kill" when he says it - then again, saying it casually would coat it with the notion that it isn't such a terrible thing.

Spyro is not a good game for vegetarians.

I actually never really paid much attention to this LOL. Now the next time I play I'ma have to look out for it

Really? For how many times I have played that game, especially chapters with Wheatley in it, Im supprised I never noticed that!
But i think its because they changed his voice actor... well in one video he has a different voice.

I figured they decided to censor the word later on but they didn't get the voice actor to redo the line.
