What's with the holes? [CLOSED]

I don't understand the holes in the ground. You enter them and there is nothing there. Am I missing something?

Yeah same here. Sometimes if you enter the holes in Shadow mode then there are enemies inside sometimes, but still... That doesn't explain it.

I think it's to make you look in all of them cos sometimes there is something there. There is one which has those Shellys in it, and when you kill them all, they all reappear.. Then you kill them again and a chest appears.. Another one I found only had 2 Goats in it..
