Well, in the Eternal Night game, Mole-Yair did say he hope he can meet Spyro again in better circumstances. So, there's a chance we might see him in DotD.

me too. I hope they bring back some of the old characters like flash and nina. (Sparx's parents) I think they dshould bring kane back but make him look older same with mole yair

Well, apparently he might because in Spyro's Lair, (some of,) the armor for the female dragons relate to Hunter's own armor. However, turning to the male's side, some of the armor relates to Mole Yair's clothing. Therefore, that eliminates a few negative choices. There's a slim chance of him returning. (Note: Another user found out about the armor. I just happened to think of it. smilie)

lol maybe sparxs parents might come back, after all they did foster spyro... he may want them to meet cynder or something i dont know.
