i heard that there will be battle packs for the new skylanders giants. the one revealed so far includes shroom-boom, chop chop, and a cannon peice. so what other battle packs could there be?

Never heard of a BATTLE pack. The closest thing I can think of is a adventure pack.

it's a new pack that has two (possibly oppasite the only ones released where shroomboom life and chop chop undead) and a item supposevly (i'm bad at spelling) is a arena or extra lvl

its probably going to be a arena, but no one knows anything about them except they exist. activision and toys for bob havent officially announced anything. the only reason we know about this is because of amazon. the big question i have is if anyone knows if there are any other battle packs, i am shure there will be more than 1.

i think they'll be four maybe... wait a minute it's so obvious a battle pack meaning it'll be a arena, and the two oppisite elements are to have a good battle shroomboom vs chop chop, air vs earth, magic vs tech and it comes with two so you can have a battle

^thats actually a really good idea. if they were to do it like that it would mean that there are 4 battle packs which makes sense because thats the amount of adventure packs thay had for SSA. maybe the battle packs are like the giants version of adventure packs?

there is 16 figurines to collect this round... the remodeling,lightcore, new legendaries or other crap variants aren't needed... so if any giants or new skylanders come packed with a adventure pack its okay...

i wonder if toy's r us will have any exclusive battle pack's. like say legendary slam bam, and legendary ignitor come in a battle pack togethor with a arena. and since legendary characters come in the pack it would be exclusive to toys r us.

Maybe since the battle pack are like aura said the new adventure packs they will contain 2 skylanders of opissate elements e.g. Shroomboom vs. Chop Chop.Well thats what I think

Seems like a con to me. I really didn't want to get Series 2 Skylanders but I did want to get every other new model. To get the battle items/arenas I need to buy a Series 2 Skylander in a pack that costs $5 more than a triple pack ,which in my opinion is way too expensive. These battle items best be really good and not just like the Volcanic Vault. In fact for that price they must be better than the Volcanic Vault otherwise they'll be a huge flop.

maybe a new way of playing like a battle mode on the normal levels but you can also fight the badies

*sigh* i have heard the explanation but it dont hold water... in this day and age there is no reason for not adding a online multiplayer, its as easy as just adding another 6 work months to get it done. a game like skylanders are screaming for a online multiplayer mode. activisions goal is to rush it out before xmas and hope to cash in big times, that is the only reason for there not being online multiplayer.

The Wii still has online.

There WAS no excuse for them not to include it. How to make it child safe? Simple- no voice chat, and if someone tries trolling by taking their Skylander off, they lose the match.
No, not every game needs online multiplayer, but apart from a few dungeon crawling games are extremely boring without it. Zelda, Mario, Kirby, all the other games, and the classic Spyros did not need and would be worse with multiplayer. Know why they're still successful without it?

Because they have actual content. Simple. Skylanders suffers as a single player game and I literally only have my parents to play it with. The moment they include online I will become freaked about it in a heartbeat. (Provided it's actually fleshed out and fair, that is.)

Yeah, he's not the only one. When I was stalking these forums before re-registering, I saw other people clamoring for online too. Online would literally benefit everything in the game or make a neutral impact for those without it, so why not add it? There's no downside to it unless we want 50 new characters in future games.

And another rule for online: Nicknames are either banned or filtered so people don't put inappropriate ones.

"take a chill pill"? not trying to be a nuisance or a hater or anything, but seriously, stop complaining about skylanders and aura24, every game has its ups and downs. skylanders really doesn't need to have online, and its a great single player game. aura24 would be a great mod (if any were actually recruited). your constant 'trolling' is really getting on my nerves and is starting to get annoying. just my 2 cents.

Battle packs are not replacing adventure packs. New adventure packs have been confirmed by the developers.

I think I'm going to like these these battle packs more. They seem like more value then the adventure packs.

Well, it depends on what the arenas are actually. Is it something new or it is an arena like in Battle Mode?

Maybe it will be like it was with the expansion packs? One expansion unlocked a new level + a battle mode map.

maybe a new style of gameplay
maybe a option to not be able to use progectiles

Anyway, the only way Activision will get me to buy a battle pack will be if online play is added, which it probably won't be because I doubt they'll swoop in and make a last minute change.

I hope that either the characters you get in the battle packs are exclusive to the the batlle packs, like the adventure packs, or they releases them all on day one. I say as otherwise they will be a few people who end up with a few doubles.

My take on it is the new battle packs are the adventure packs for Skylanders Giants. As far as I am aware no product listing has ever been seen for a Gaints adventure pack. I know that the devs have said that there will be new adventure packs but they could have swapped them with these battle packs due to lack of item ideas. There is only so much an item can do in skylanders without being obselete or overpowered, and personally I can't think of anymore to add.

But on the more on topic side, if Legendary Bouncer is real, I have a feeling that the Legendary characters will come in Battle Packs. Two per pack depending of which one you get: Legendary Bouncer and Legendary of another Giant, or Legendary Slam Bam and Ignitor- as the exclusive figures- plus, an Arena Piece. It makes perfect sense that they would send them all to TRU in one big batch so they would need to do less separate shipping of the packs while increasing consumer demand. I guess this could work even if there aren't Legendary Giants too.

Could be more battle packs than we expect, I suppose. I wouldn't be surprised seeing only three or so new characters outside of them.

Okay, I've given it some thought, and the more I think about Legendaries in the battle packs the more it makes sense.

Someone on the last page mentioned that the two Skylanders are of opposite Elements. So far we have Legendary Slam Bam and Legendary Ignitor pretty much confirmed- which goes with that theory.

If Legendary Bouncer comes in one, he can go with Legendary Magic Giant which leaves a pack for Crusher and Swarm together!

Perfect Elemental harmony, two "Giant Battle Packs", two "Regular Battle packs", and half of them being all Legendary. Makes sense to me.

I didn't know it was suddenly a crime to speak negatively about a game because it lacks a feature that should've been put in by now. Online could've worked in the first game, and it certainly was expected this time around. The lack of even an online mode shows how this game is likely to have just been copied and pasted, and will be no real different from this first game, which is an extreme disappointment, and proof that this series is in for some serious milking.

Sorry Aura, but Skylanders isn't a perfect game (not saying it's a bad game, but still). It could've done some improving. And it missed out on having a major improvement. This isn't trolling. This isn't suspension or ban worthy. Kappa may be going about it the wrong way, but he's still entitled to speak his mind about his disappointment, just as much as you're entitled to speak about your anticipation.

I also personally believe that online should've been added this time around, as it would not only make co-op more fun, but it would also give the battle modes more reason to exist, since it's impossible to play without another player (and I'm usually the only one in the house playing Skylanders). Online would extend the use of these things, and therefore extend the replay value of the game overall. I haven't touched Skylanders in several months. If the game had online, I'd probably still be playing it. And if Giants had online, I might have felt more inclined to buy it.
