I agree with everything said here. I myself aren't that good of a RP'er, but man do those bad RP'ers RUIN things! With some roleplays I've seen people godmod REALLY bad.

Things I hate in RP's:

  • Dodging all attacks.
  • Killing powerful enemies with one hit.
  • Killing off other people's characters without their permission.
  • Controlling other people's characters.
  • Being good at everything.
  • Controlling things like nighttime, daytime, earthquakes, when they're not the GM.
  • Having multiple secrets in their past, but not putting it in their character sheet.

There is more, but I can't concentrate right now.

TheFlyingSeal, I love you. You have made my day by posting this. I am so tired of gramatically challenged people clogging up perfectly good RPs with crappy, cliche characters that are just like the characters they use in every other RP.

Another thing you might want to bring up is antisocial characters. Not that they're bad as far as characters go, but RPs are about interaction. It's like these people create characters with the intent of everyone else's character throwing themselves at them. No, just no. You actually have to try. Nobody has the time to chase Mr. or Mrs. Sulky McTorturedsoul around and make them be a part of things when we have a story to follow.

I actually used to role-play. I used simple characters. But the things is, I always forgot about it, People didn't notice me, or it got boring for me.

So now I just don't do it anymore. I've tried to, recently, but... I just can't find anything interesting... and I'm tired of seeing anime-kawaii-desu-crap.

^ I hate when that happens. Every time I take time to plan out a role, even just in maps and npcs, no one joins. EVER. And if i write more than a paragraph they claim it's 'too much.' I hardly ever write more than a page's worth, and mostly that's after shortening so a first grader could read it... >.>
