Although I can't find an official announcement of Activision showing anything at Comic-Con outside of some Marvel games, it looks like Skylanders WILL be on display at SDCC. Which means we'll probably get a better glimpse of some of the Giants and more than likely a new variant of some sort.
*Now, this could mean we won't get any new variants, but it's hard to say one way or the other*

So, whatcha think it'll be? Thus far for shows, we've got Hex, Cynder and Spyro. Would be cool to see a Gil Grunt variant as he's yet to really get anything special done.

Heh...I was just looking into this today myself. My brother attends SDCC every year, and I was talking to him about a possible show exclusive Skylanders figure. We checked the show map for where Activision will be, and he will check in for Skylanders swag and (hopefully) show exclusive variant. Fingers crossed!

Well I bet we will see the water Giant next.

Anyways all it said was that Skylanders would be at Comic-Con. I didn't have much doubt they'd be there, but I'd like to see a more "official" word. Especially since the official SDCC site only has them mentioned in press releases for their new Marvel games.

I kept telling people they would not only be there, but probably have an exclusive.

I wonder what they exclusive will be. It needs to be a charcter that doesn't have a variant already. Like, Grill Grunt, Sunburn, or Whammy( yes this is very wishful thinking.).

Just to let you know, Wham Shell has an ice (transparent) variant.

I'm betting for Gill Grunt, but I wouldn't be shocked if there were a third version of yet another character.

You'd want to hype your shiny exclusives up to convince people to plan on going to your booth before the others.

Hopefully people will take pictures of the booth.

Activision hasn't pre-announced any of the show exclusives to date to my recollection. They have been a surprise each time, and only become known when the first internet reports (and usually eBay auctions) hit.

While it's true that most SDCC show merchandise exclusives are known (or even pre-sold) before the show, none of the show exclusive Skylanders have been sold...they're all free giveaways.
