What sort of variants do you think we'll see in Giants?

Besides the LightCore and 2 Legendaries we're (mostly) positive of, do you think we'll see anything else special?

Notably, Gamestop and Best Buy for the most part got the short end of the stick with exclusives. While I don't suspect the Legendaries will be there, do you think they'd end up getting different stock in, or their own exclusive variant (ie; Walmart/Target will have a "Wave 1" grouping of Giants figures, while Gamestop/Best Buy have a "Wave 2" grouping of Giants figures; or variants in the vein of Blue Bash or Red Drill Sarge)

Speaking of Legendaries, who do you think we'll see? We've got Magic, Tech, Earth, Tech, Water and Fire. So that leaves a Life and Undead character to fill out a full roster. I wonder if we'll see ones of the new guys yet.

So... We had gold,silver,GITD,ice, and colored clear.

I think we should have 2 more flockeds, some granites, bronzes, and metallics of wham shell, camo, and Ignitor.


Plus 2 more chrome and pearls

Please none. More than half the current ones have them. The only way I would enjoy new ones is if they actually get released everywhere... I've never seen a variant here, and every single store employee I ask says they aren't received.

I would like to see a Pop Fizz that changes color when you put it on the Portal, like his potion...

I agree with everybody else, the variants should get a wider release, not the "only 7,000 made " type of edition like they did with ALL of the variants of the original game.

Also, the variants I have were all bought off of eBay, except for my Gold Drill Sgt, which I snagged on Amazon, and my Flocked Stump Smash, which I won on the contest.

Ok we do not need any more variants. Especially for spyro. What they should do is make variants only for those who didn't recieve changes in SSA. Like slam bam and ignitor are a good example. they didn't have any variants in SSA but in SG they do. And probably all the new ones will have variants except for those with light core, but who knows. activison already has them planned out. I also hope there are not a huge Amount of variants for them.

I wouldn't be surprised if they have 3 more each of silver, gold, GID and ice with the orange base for Giants. Considering they are re-posing a lot of the already existing figures, and also considering that many of the original 32 figures had no variants, there is a lot of opportunity to create just as many variants in Giants as they did in the original.

I wanna see more "dark" or "evil" skylanders, like maybe the version kaos has, with the adjusted stats: way too much power, and way to little HP.

I had a dream of Skylanders figures with moving parts once. Don't know if they could manage to pull that off though.

i'm not sure if i said this already but my friend thought about a skylander that could have upgradeable parts like drill sergent with the arkeyan armor you could add it on to the figure

I also thought about that... Maybe they could have exclusive hats that you can put on figures?
Another example of what you said is Wham-Shell's Carpace Plating upgrade..

Yeah, they are doing this with the sidekicks...

I think what they SHOULD have done with the sidekicks is released mini packs that included a character (a variant perhaps) and a magic item (one that you couldn't get anywhere else)

This would be beneficial to them as it'd allow more people to not only get the figures, but also make money on selling extra stuff. Honestly, the best thing to have done would have been package each of the Legendaries in a single pack-like package with a Sidekick and then Dark Spyro with a Volcanic Vault. Heck, even if they charged a bit more (say, $11.99) people still would have bought them.


Very interesting ideas though guys. I'd personally like to see wider distribution of variants, but also have contests for ones that are only at conventions and things (like E3. I'm not saying to discontinue those, but make them available for other people)

We know now that there is a Gold Flameslinger.. so they might remake all of the reposes to their corresponding variant, and the new figures will get the Gold, Silver, Clear, and GITD remakes..

Well I remember seeing an interview with some important Skylanders guy and he said there'll be different types so maybe I'm thinking it could either mean something to do with lights (but no Lightcore) or maybe they'll be in a different 'outfit'

I would absolutely love a crystal orange or crystal black Terrafin. That would make my day.
