Levana rushed over, wondering how all that happened in such a short time. He checked her pulse, and breathing, and then began to see what could be done about the chains.

Sozinta's pulse and breathing both seemed a lot slower than it should have been, but she was alive. The chains are bolted into the wall and floor around her, but they wouldn't be impossible to remove.

Levana cracked his knuckles slightly, and directed chi to his arms and hands, gripping the chainsaw around one of her arms and ripping it through with some strain as close to her hand as he could. He strained, and the metal bent and finally pulled apart with a loud shriek.

After the chain broke the sound of thundering foot steps can be heard as people from all over the sector rushed in the see what had happened. They certainly knew Levana was there now.

He winced, and then ripped through the others as quick as he could, grabbing her, and turning...

Behind Levana stand over a dozen men, all armed and wearing some kind of plated suits for protection. One loudly states, "Release the creature and come with quietly and you will not be hurt."

He considered the odds. "and if i dont come quietly?" he held Sozinta in both arms, bridal style, and directed his chi towards his legs instead.

"Then we shoot your head off." He said, and the other men raised their guns and aimed at Levana.

He grimaced, and then leapt straight up, kicking off the wall and springing towards them. Chi flared around his legs.

Several people scrambled to get out of the way. Others fired, but missed.

He landed, pivoted, and kicked three people in the side of the head, smashing skull. He leapt, and kicked off another's chest, smashing his foot up into his chin. He flipped, careful, keeping steady hold of Sozinta, and landed in a crouch, and then shooting along at a run, getting the hell out of there as fast as he could.

In the hall way outside three more men stood aiming their guns, a strange little girl standing on one on their shoulders, speaking to the guy. The guy took a shoot at Levana, the bullet barely grazing his ear.

He cursed, that hurt. The pain faded with adrenaline, and he shindo stepped, blurring forwards and then kneeing the guy who'd shot at him in the stomach. He ignored the strange girl, kicked anoother guard in the crotch-he wasnt above cheap shots in tight spots like this-and shoved him into the other one. He ran back the way he had come in.

A loud voice over speakers blared, "Section one is going into lock down! Repeat! Section one is going under lock down! All class one officer are required to protect exit unit one!"
Between Levana and the elevator there is a good several dozen men and women, firing at him. But some how, most of the shots are missing.

he leapt up high, over their heads, and leapt back and forth between the walls-he felt pain lance through his leg, and slipped on his last jump, smashing into the wall. He got the breath knocked out of him, and hit the floor, almost landing on sozinta.

The people quickly recovered from surprise this time. "Fire, do not harm the test subject!" they shouted firing at him again.

He had the worst but most brilliant idea. He scrambled forward, and turned, shielding himself with Sozinta. "STOP FIRING OR YOU'LL HIT HER!" He shouted, hating himself. His leg bled freely and pain radiated from his shin. It felt broken. He walked calmly backwards, acting as though he didn't feel any pain at all.

"Cease fire!" One of them shouted, the men keeping their weapons locked on Levana, but no one shot at him. They watched uneasily as he continued back.

He backed calmly into the elevator. Sozinta was too valuable to them. He had a brilliant idea, and gripped her horn ring. "send me up. Or i will take this off, and we will all die. I can promise you, we will all die."

The Elevator closed it self, it starting up far faster than it went down. "Good job. I didn't have to interfere in the freeing of the creature. My boss can safely be reassured that I only interfered with your escape." Akane's voice said, she then appearing infront of Levana, holding a strange key infront of her. "I can't stay for long, though, I'll answer some questions when you get to safety." She said, starting to turn the key in mid air.

"whoa whoa, what? Why should i trust you?" he asked, kneeling and clamping his hand to his thigh. There was a bullethole. "ah..." he winced and looked at his bloodsoaked pants.

She paused and shrugged, "I don't really expect you to trust me. I'm simply hoping the my interference will not have overly tilted the balance." Akane said, and then looked down at Sozinta. "She'll live, and chances are she'll cry in your arms. You should enjoy those rewards. I have to go now." She said, making a full rotation with her key and vanishing.

He blinked, and just set her down, ripping his pants at the knee and tying his leg off tightly to stop the bleeding. Then he picked Sozinta up again as the elevator doors opened.

The area in the warehouse seemed unnaturally still, no breeze, no creak, nothing. Just utter silence. The area was just as Levana left it.

Levana sprinted the **** out of there, rushing. He had to get back home again.

Sometime after Levana got back home, Sozinta's eyes fluttered open. However she didn't seem aware of her surroundings in the silentest. Chances were she couldn't even make out that Levana was near her, let alone alive.

"Sozinta." he said, when she noticed she was awake. "Sozinta, come on, look at me." he reached out to touch her.

Sozinta drew back quickly, out of the sheer instinct that comes with the fear of not knowing where you are. But she paused, actually looking at Levana and trying desperately to focus on him. She tried to speak, fumbling around with some word that somewhat sounded like Levana's name.

He smiled a little bit. "yeah, it's me. Come on, shh, it's okay." he slowed, and gently touched a knuckle to her cheek, stroking her skin.

She visibly relaxed and slowly seemed to focus on him. She spoke again, somewhat slurred this time, but understandable. "L- Levana... I'm so sorry... " She said quietly.

"shh, its okay." he smiled back, and tested her forehead for fever or too cold. He gently placed two rather chilly fingers on her pulse as well, checking it.

She was defiantly was running fever, and her heart rate was a little slower than a humans' should be. She quieted herself, not saying anything else as she watched Levana.

He frowned, worry drawing lines on his face. He pressed his cold hand to her head, hoping to have that help slightly.

"Your hand is freezing, you know... " Sozinta said, her eyes flashing with the worry that she had about the look on his face. "I really got tore up, huh...?"

"oh, sorry. And yeah, you did. Who were those guys?"

"Beats me... This is my first run in with this organization... I didn't expect them to have Sintech equipment." Sozinta said, and sighed, "Next time i see them I won't give a warning shot..."

"Sintech?" Levana questioned.

"They are a large intergalactic company. They own three star systems and produce the most efficient equipment I've seen. That's where I get my gizmos. The scientist had an anti-mater field generator and the latest model of the electronic-force-reflection-system.... C-26-78-AC I think... " Sozinta said, and sighed. "I just want to know how the hell they got a hold of the equipment, it's illegal to trade with planets until they've established a holding in this Galaxy's registration... And trust me, earth has a LONG way to go."

He sat there, so confused. "what?"

"It's illegal for companies to trade with earth until the dominate species, humans, can get off this rock and out of the galaxy without dying." Sozinta said, hoping that her new explanation was easier to understand.

That made marginally more sense. "okay. Thank you." he felt so stupid.

Sozinta sighed, "I just wished that i had notice his equipment sooner... Dammit..." She paused and then a look of fear flashed across her face. "Oh crap! They know where we are know! And I just started liking this house.... " She muttered, and abruptly tried to stand, which didn't work out so well because she fell right back down.

Levana picked her up. "whoa there. I'll carry you. Where do I take you?"

"To the basement, I have to move my vehical before we can do anything." Sozinta said.

"okay." he headed down to the basement, carying her carefully. He was halfway down thee hallway when his leg crumpled and he slid to the floor, sliding Sozinta next to him. "ah..."

"Whoa! Are you okay?!" Sozinta asked, getting to look at his leg, "What happened?"

"shot.. With, something, i dont know." he tried to get up again but couldnt, pain nearly knocking him out. The bullet just kept shifting inside his leg, not having made it through. "it hurts..." he hissed out.

Sozinta looked at his leg and tried to get a little bit of a better look at it. "The bullet has to come out... I'll get it, but it'll hurt like hell." She said quietly.

"will it hurt less afterwards?" he asked, searching for something to bite down on instead of screaming.

"Yes. the bullet won't shift in your leg, but the wound will bleed more. However, it should hurt less... " Sozinta said, "I'm going to count to three okay?"
