Easy. It is this:

  1. Find an image file that is GIF (Graphics Interchange Format)
  2. Then save it and then put it as if it were a PNG (Portable Network Graphics) in the "Upload New Avatar" bar to "Settings" in your profile.

Now, this is in case the GIF animation is very high, exceeding the limit of the avatars here in Ds.net. (100X100 pixels)

Here will be the option for GIF files, so that you reduce the pixels without losing the animation. Because if you do otherwise, the file passed to PNG. I mean, still image. And not moving avatar. For me, they're taught me, and now I do. You see my avi smilie.

You also need to make sure it's less than 30KB (kinda small I know but that's the case here).
To reduce the size of the GIF you can cut the 2nd frame out in the "GIF Only" option and/or reduce the colors.
