I was browsing GameStop.com when I see two NEW bundles for the GOLD figures. Here they are:
1) Gold Flameslinger Bundle: Gold Flameslinger, Voodood/Boomer/prism Break three pack, tower case, eruptor, Wrecking ball, and zap. Price:$100

2) Gold Chop chop and Drill Sarge Bundle: Gold Chop Chop and Drill Sarge, Wham Shell, Warnado, Stealth Elf, Whirlwind, Tower case, Bash, and Flameslinger. Price:$120

Weird huh? Pretty soon I think we will see a GitD and silver bundle soon.

That second bundle is a great deal; worth well over their asking price right now.

The second one actually is a pretty good deal.. I did the math and all those items added up together is about $120 at the $10 for singles price..

Good luck on getting these things actually available however.

Interesting, but ultimately not good for people hunting for variants. If corporate is taking them out (As was indicated by a few members who stated they work at Gamestop and the boxes they get in are just random assortments from other opened boxes) that's not really fair at all, even if they're lumping them into a big set like that.

So I guess you can rule out shopping at Gamestop for a while.

I guess this is slightly better than GameStop employees snagging them for themselves before normal customers even get the chance to see them, but... this is most definitely a bad thing.
"Want a special variant Skylander? Sure, we'll just have you pay $90+ more than what you normally would've and we'll throw in a bunch of figurines you probably don't want!"

I guess it works better for starting collectors, but...

I've had my complete set for awhile now, but I still will look causally when I'm out just to see if I find any variants, but I figured that out awhile ago, So I've just stopped looking at gamestop, and I'm sure I'm not the only one, just like how TRU is at the bottom of list to look because of their jacked up prices

I'd rather be sold variants by GameStop at fairer prices than be gouged for them by some goof who follows the UPS truck around town. Actually picking them up on the store shelves is only a very remote possibility; in all likelihood, the only thing this influences is who you buy from.

Including a bunch of other figures with them are a bunch of bull, but I guess this makes the value of the golds more of an unknown. The second one is a decent deal, seeing as it comes with 2 golds, Wham Shell, and Warnadom These 4 alone could probably go for more than 120 on ebay...(not that I'm encouraging scalping of course)
