Recently, Pixieluv (from the Skylanders Armory site) sent me a bunch of Skylanders to paint.
Here's what I've come up with so far:
Boomer painted to look like a goblin from WoW
Shiny - notice the coins by his feet that are usually unpainted
Painted as a WoW Feydragon (Those butterfly wings were tough!)
Arms reposed. Painted as an Akrean Drill-bot
Purple scales with new armor
A work in progress, made of mud instead of lava
Flameslinger repainted as a character from WoW called "Illidan Stormrage" They look exactly alike! http://www.wowwiki.com/Illidan_Stormrage
Sonicboom painted as a Griffin from WoW
I almost painted this one with glitter, but that didnt work out so I did 2-tone green on the scales.
Stealth elf painted as a WoW Night Elf
Triggerhappy painted as some kinda goblin
Whirlwind with rainbow colored wings tail and horn. (Work in progress)
Another work in progress

Good job on those. I'm really wanting to make a Legendary Stealth Elf for one of my kids.....can you give me any tips on what paint to use? Ideally one that can sustain a little bit of actual kid play. They are not rough with them but do play with them.
Thanks. |

Wow. I think these are some of the best custom painted skylanders I've seen. My favs are Drill Sergeant and Boomer. Great job!

Thanks for the compliments!
Fernandez2: Advice? Use acrylic paints. Any of the normal ones you can get at a hobby store. Do NOT use Enamel paints. They stay sticky forever and eat away the plastic. THe paint is pretty durable, but if you are expecting heavy play, use a protective spray clear coat. If you want to take off the arms or other pieces like I did on Drill Sgt, put the figure into boiling water for a minute or two. THe heat will soften the plastic allowing you to pop the limbs off.
