The Dark Master otherwise known as Malefor is indeed the evil soul that created the well of souls.

But, let's go back in time and consider what the other stories have told us.

Ignitus says that the Dark Master was the first purple dragon, had powers that knew no boundaries, and the ancient elders secretly taught him everything they knew, but soon his power became limitless, and the dark side overtook him, thus he was exiled, and he created the Well of Souls (Mountain of Malefor) and was ready to now escape. We also learn that Malefor trained the apes and made them smarter.

We also know that the Chronicler told us that he had to poison and corrupt Cynder's mind to control her.

Ok, this is my theory of who Malefor really is:

Malefor is the Chronicler. Think about it. Only a purple dragon could know how to teach Spyro the elements and the power of time. Also, how could the Chronicler survive in his temple without food? He must exit it to get food and water, and to re-enter, he would have to be a purple dragon and have control of all of the elements. The only thing is that Malefor is disguised as the Chronicler.

What do you think of my theory, and what is you theory?

well the food bit can go out NONE of the charactors eat in the entire thing exept sparx.

That is true, but Sparx does ask Spyro to try some.
But it does make me wonder a bit...

Ignitus didn't say anything about the DM being a purple dragon. That was the Chronicler. But...
I reckon that Malefor does have a connection with the Chronicler. Yeah, maybe he taught him.

The Chronicler didn't teach Spyro the elements he reawakened them he did not teach them to Spyro. The Chronicler is not the Dark Master...

technically, Chronicler at least taught Spyro Dragon Time, the Chronicler placed it into Spyro's mind..

o wait, nevr mind, Chronicler is a TIME DRAGON...

Well...Spyro discovered Dragon Time on his own. The Chronicler explained it to him after that. Still don't know about the Time dragon theory.

Yeah, I was just thinking that! I don't think the Chronicler is Malefor, if he was then why would he have Gaul try to free him, and why didn't he just kill Spyro while he was in his cave, or drive him mad in his dreams?

But on the other hand, if the Chronicler is Malefor, it would explain why Gaul laughed a t Spyro in TEN, because the Dark Master was already free.

Breath? He doesn't seem to have one. He can use telekinesis (or whatever the word for moving objects with your mind is) I think but I don't think he has control over time. He knew what'd happen by the books.

He is the "Master of Time" so i think that he can "control time" by "going through time" and telling others what to do, like with Spyro.

I dunno if he's the master of time. He records events and happenings in dragon history, but he also told Spyro that only a purple dragon can wield time. So I don't think he can control it.

Malefor as the Chronicler........ actually, the first time I heard that theory was from Zerodius. And he has several different variations of that theory (all of which are definitely more creative than whatever theory Sierra is going to come with) >_>

But it is beyond unlikely that he is. If he is the Dark Master, why teach Spyro how to stop the mountain from killing him? After all, Spyro is the only thing in the world at this time that can stop him.

The Chronicler isn't the Dark Master, end of story.

Yup. the chronicler IS NOT the DM everyone got that?? Anyway, why would he kind of tell spyro the darkmastrers waekness?? (If your wondering what the waekness is it is time, the DM wanted to get out of the convexity portal and the well of souls( Doesn't that mean he's dead alredy??) really quickly and IF spyro can work it out e will want to kill spyro super quick too. he probably won't put much force on him as the DM thinks spyros tiny compared to him . and voila' You have one dead DM)

Well, he is about the size of his paw...But still, he's gonna DIE!!!!!!

He can't really be Malefor. The Chronicler is a white, old dragon not purple.

The Dark Master was the first to be born, Spyro isn't. Furthermore, it was over a thousand years ago. Anyways, we can only wait.

I thinkj I crack it people, Ok at the end of (The Eternal Night) Spyro stoped time. Mabye he actualy learned to control it but as the DM story gose that he turned evil. So afther mastering all the element he whent to the past to destroy his light side or (turn into the Cronical to later teach light spyro to be bad, so he wouldnt be destroyed ....hmmm....... and i would probobly be reveald at the end of the game, or before Spyro kills him.
