I was discussing with someone about making a custom base and chose to run a quick test on my machine and this is what my legendary base looks like. It's a rough prototype and I need a finer cutter, but here's my first shot at it.

I like it, now you just need to find a way to add a colored LED underneath the circle and it'd be perfect. ...I probably would've grouped them into different elements though...that way you could use a bunch of purple LEDs for Magic Element to light the names and circles with minimal bleed over between different colors with minimal work to separate them. ...but good work!

This was the prototype. you could easily put an led on the side to wash light, but this is only 1/4" thick plexiglass. I considered doing a colored resin fill on the names, but this was just to see if they work.

Danger, this is a base that you can set your figures on inside he circle pockets (custom cut pockets are an option, but I like the ability to pose them a certain way and I'm sure so does everyone else. This specific one houses the Legendary figures I think individually I would like to do sets by their element. This took about 7-8 minutes to run on a CNC router with an 1/16" flat endmill. I tried the 1/32" and that's just too time consuming to cut. It is a way to identify your figures and display them on a shelf.

I will post a pic of them on the base when I get home so you can get a better idea.

If you want the LED lights, but don't want to put them in the plexi-glass, consider building a custom wood base to hold these bases and have the leds installed in that.

if you placed a small led on the shelf they are set on they would wash nicely on the pocketed areas. I'll see what I can find in our electrical department LED wise.

i dont know anything about doing that kind of thing. but from what i can tell these look awesome. i would personally (im sure im not the only one) love to buy a full set of these from you if you ever decide you want to do that.

I have actually had a lot of people ask in another group. Let me try to complete a full set. It is being run on company equipment. I'd be responsible to cover cost for the bits and such, plus the cost of materials. I may consider doing 3 sets and do a drawing for the 3 sets. Then I would probably charge a certain price per set. I haven't really crunched numbers on costs. Takes about 1-2 minutes to cut one base if it were of a single figure.

well if you do decide to do something like that, i will definitely be interested.

So I thought I would post my 37/37 with my new custom base I made. Still in the process of deciding how to finish it all out. I think a bottom plate that houses 4 low profile color LED is the way to go. But here is a bit of the effect you get when placed on my black coffee table. It pops pretty nicely I think.
