I thought of this a few seconds ago and thought it would be cool, like what if McDonalds or Burger King made Skylanders Kids Meals toys. What i'm thinking would be cool is that they would be distributing all 32 characters, and they wouldn't work on the portal, but they would all do something interesting. And it would be awesome if they were in completely different poses. Personally I would collect all of them. What about you guys?

Yeah, I was thinking it was weird no fast food chains have picked Skylanders up. Really, it'd be a good venue to have different toys and stuff (like a flipping Stealth Elf or something), plus they could give away a code or something for an item on Universe.

Dude it would be so much win if this happened. I'm shocked much like Spyroflame that its not happened already. Just give it a bit though its likely to happen. And if so, I'll be eating kids meals for a while

These two pages would disagree with you, they are for the USA alone, so not counting Japan/Europe, 3 or 4 in USA alone...

But anyway, fast food places usually have a number of their kids toys set months in advance, so if we haven't heard of anything, it's just waiting...

Unless they do something to tie in with the launch of Giants?

It was not really a proper game, just the little teeny ones where you go left and right/whatever, very primitive... You can still find the odd few on eBay though, looking now, there's actually quite a few, if you don't mind paying for them xD

And seeing as how I work there it would be pretty hard not to just grab a box and run out of the store.

I'm not sure if BK still does it, but McDonalds allows you to buy the toys separately. Good news- If they did a promotion, you could still get the things without ever buying a meal. Bade news- Each one charges different amounts for the figures. I've found some as low as 50 cents, and some as high as $2.99.

But, it allowed me to get 2 full sets of the Pokemon BW toys, and a full set of the cards without eating a single "Hamburger". I use that in quotations because it's not really...well..a burger.

Reasons not to make skylander happy meal toys:

1.Some are useless or downright boring
2.One word: Ebay *Evilbay for you kapp *
3.There won't be any room for casual people *Due to scalpers or kids*
4.Some might break in about 30 min for so
and 5.Mc Donald's or burger king will be fishing out money like Activison.

1. Make the toy usable on Spyro's Universe
2. It counts as a form of advertising and the kids will now want to get the game as they now have a figure of their own (no matter how rubbish it is)

you can buy just the happy meal toy at mcdonalds, i'm pretty sure it's 2$ , but yeah, i wouldn't buy them unless they could be used on the portal, or were atleast nice looking, and then people would probably just buy their favorites.

Instead of another Frito promotion, they should have used McDonald's for the Sidekicks promo. Cause I have a feeling the sidekicks are going to be difficult to obtain but if they had gone with Mcdonald's you can just buy them for like 1.49$.

Some states McDonald's doesn't even have happy meals anymore, and eventually probably all states would be like this.

We in australia are different lately my wife and I buy a happy meal for lunch when we are out, 4.95 each is a cheap meal

But... it isn't all that much food, is it? I mean, it's cheap, but all you get is a small unhealthy burger, and a small amount of fries. And do you really take your wife out to McDonalds every day? Because that's awesome.

no not every day just when we are out, I get 6 nuggets chips and a drink that keeps me going to dinner, and they now have healthier ones like wraps and apple pieces instead of chips and water or apple juice instead of soft drink

Not much of a point in packing a lunch versus eating McDonalds I guess. It's nice to see that they're gradually trying to become 'healthier' though. Apples are certainly healthier than chips/fries.

Chicken wraps still have grease and most kids won't pick apples over fries. I do agree with the states that are getting rid of kids meals. It unhealthy for our children, and obesity is already a big problem. I know the public schools around here are starting g to monitor lunches. Making them as healthy as possible and limit what they can bring from home

G2 Skylanders Sidekicks will probably end up in kids meals, at least if the Frito Lay promotion is successful enough to catch McDonalds' eye.

Getting off-topic here but:

1/. I don't think it is up to a govt to decide; it should be the parents. I live on Oz not the "land of the free" bur i would never put up with that. My kids would only get a Happy Meal as a treat and are not obese so why should a nanny state dictate to me what my kids can and cannot eat?

2/. As for apples versus fries, my kids either eat what I give them or they go hungry. Parents should limit the choices their kids make to reasonable choices and not parental decisions. If a kid is old enough to choose their own meal, then they are probably too old for a Happy Meal...

I'd be even cooler if the toys were actual ones that worked in-game. But then the health issues would skyrocket.

What chaos said, and also, statistics support that exposing kids to reasonable amounts of junk food while they're young actually makes them less likely to binge on the stuff. If they discover it for the first time when they're on their own and able to eat it in unlimited quantities, you're far more likely to have hordes of fat college students on your hands than a few fat kids who get this food in a well-supervised environment. Yes, there are parents who abuse this food, and yes, it does lead to some childhood obesity, but there are plenty of greater causes than just a little McDonald's, such as poverty and a lack of education provided to the parents.

posable, simplified versions of say eight of the skylanders would be great.

Will happen eventually, McDonald's always look for new things to give with meals.
