What path is better for Swarm and why?
Definitely choose the Flying path. As a Giant, Swarm is slow as heck, so having a reliable way of gaining speed is of massive importance for him.

For some people, yes, though personally some like the strategy involved with weaker paths(I.E. Forest Ninja over Pook Blade Saint). TC didn't specify wether to keep in mind strength or enjoyment when recommending, so a lot of people will probably be recommending the paths they find more interesting over the more powerful ones. I personally like Treefolk Charger more myself. |

If you use potions more, the Mad Scientist path is a good pick. Best of the Beast! is awesome, but if you don't use it as much as standard attacks, unless you do want to specialize more in that Form, Mad Scientist would probably be a better pick. Mad Scientist also has potion mixing which would be pretty interesting if you do use them a lot. Keep in mind though the Beast Form is fairly useless down potions path. I never really used the potions since Beast Form always interested me more, so I'm biased to that, MS doesn't seem very fun to me, so I can't really give thoughts...

Hot Head: The Burninator. You just douse enemies with oil and light em' up. Simple and effective. I don't know how good or bad the other path is though, so I can't give input on that.

Both, of course! I'm getting several Sprockets. Though I will pick Operator first and that will probably be my personal preference- one of the reasons I love Sprocket as much as I do is she means Tech finally has a proper melee character.

Here is what I got. I will edit this post as I get more Newlanders and a few changes with some S1.
: Ice Lancer - 3 javelins is the big prize here, on top of more powerful ones. Better than the many ice blocks you get. They get in the way, and even trap you. Though they are easy to bash and blow up, it is annoying and not all powerful as the Ice Lancer path. : Both are decent. Whether you want to be fast (Jousting), or simply more powerful with more combos as well. : Barrier Boost is much better. Due to the fact the paramushrooms are extremely inaccurate and they do not make up for that in power. The barrier give you the power to burrow underground completely averting attacks. And while doing so, you can hit your mushroom and make them explode without coming out from underground. This has made one of my most powerful. : (Forgot path names) I chose the rockslide path, but it was very disappointing and glitched very much. It is very weak, and only makes you look cool with the armor. The other path has an improved hammer, combos and more ranged attacks, which in itself makes the hammer path better. : (Forgot path names) This one is my total opinion. The charging path seems much more powerful. In addition to making him a fast giant, it gives him a fast and very powerful combo. Although the armor you get is not as cool as the steel armor you get down the other path, it proved much better. S2 : Holy cheese....Wow Pow, down the shield path, makes S2 literally one of my most powerful and one of my current fastest S2 that I have. It gives you a shield charge (not just bash) that goes a good distance and can be spammed well. S1 : Her lightning can no longer be spammed and glitched into a never ending lightning attack. Knowing this, it is up to you whether you like the dash still, or want to switch her so that her lightning is useful, because now it is weak down the Shadow Dancer path. S1 Same deal with Cynder, his slime can no longer be spammed in an infinite chain of electric slime trails. However the path is still better, it is simply MUCH weaker because of not being able to chain it.

Cynder can now be damaged while shadow dashing which makes that path significantly worse. Netherwelder with exploding ghosts and her new wow pow on S2 is now the better option.

Why does everyone say to pick swarms flying path there is the barb path and the swarm form path it doesn't even make you faster! This is what the path gives you
Barb path- gives you razor wings, barb shots explode, and ultimate barbs. Swarm Form- bigger form, explosion, and can turn into an ax.

I think the point they're trying to make is that the barb path mainly focuses on..... [b]THE BARBS![b]
The only upgrade you get toward flying is razor wings that damage enemies. As far as the speed and length of flight, those are topped out BEFORE you choose a path. Personally I went for the bug path. Being able to form an axe to smash ememies reminds me of all the old cartoons where you see Pluto, Donald Duck, etc... fighting a swarm of bees and they form a fist, arrow, sword, bat, etc.. |

You can see the Beast mode in action in this video Personally I like the Beast upgrade path better since it adds a lot of depth and strategy to Pop-Fizz's gameplay. It's all about tossing out your purple minions, then going into beast mode with the right potion for the situation. Then when there are enemies that completely wreck you up if you get too close, you change back to normal Pop-Fizz and hurl potions at them from a distance. He's great fun on the Best of the Beast path, and one of my new favourite characters. : )

Best path for Shroomboom?
|
Nibelilt Ripto Gems: 401 |
#145 Posted: 02:02:52 28/10/2012
Tree Rex
Lumbering Laserer upgrades the laser so it becomes spammable and is boringly overpowered in Story, but mediocre in Battle anyway. Treefolk Charger is more fun and also better in Battle. There isn't really much contest- just go with Treefolk Charger. Fright Rider I only played Joust Jockey, but in my opinion Sir Lance A Lot honestly looks more fun. Plus, HOLD A Combo is awesome(you release a flock of ostrich heads in front of you for AoE). However, Joust Jockey can get through areas faster... So pick between these: Sir Lance A Lot if you would like a path complimented by your Jousting Charge, or Joust Jockey if you want the main attack to BE the Jousting Charge. Shroomboom Just go with Barrier Boost. Paramushroom Promotion is another inferior Drobot... It upgrades the already fine Boomshrooms, and the Paratrooper upgrades are useless without the Barrier ones. It's sort of like choosing between Bone Crafter and Shade Master- one is a fine projectile user, but other projectile users are better, and the other has a unique defensive style that's worth buying them for. |

I always tend to pick the path that encourages you to use all of your moves. It's why I prefer upgrading Chill's ice wall. On the Javelin path there's no reason to use anything else, and she's incredibly boring that way. Pushing the ice blocks is a lot more fun, and having the Narwhal that takes forever to charge up as a risky backup insurance policy is good when you're in danger.
