^ I disagree with:

smilie The rockets may be strong, but they descend slowly and can easily be dodged with speed. It isn't very versatile either and is a bit boring.

smilie VV is better, but not far better. The vines have a poor aim and it's annoying to try hitting your opponent, plus VV is terrible in close range and MM is better for it.

smilie Mad Scientist is more fun for me and is stronger, Best of the Beast os terrible in PvP. You still need 4 seconds to transform and you are left vulnerable while doing it, plus the beast form is short-ranged and he's still easy for most everyone to outrun.

smilie Marksman is more fun, but useless.

smilie Prismancer does damage faster, but his defenses are pathetic without crystaleer and he's sooo bad in close range without the Massive Crystal Eruption. The Wow Pow also is less effective on this path, due to the Pulse-Crystal combo being easier to avoid.

smilie Treefolk Charger makes him faster and more versatile, plus the Laser path has pointless upgrades besides the Vaporizer.

Trouble is, Scarecrows have low HP and can be destroyed without much effort, and the axes are short-ranged and can be avoided COMPLETELY by ranged characters.

Ah yes, I forgot to mention that I disagree with Prismancer. It's beam is supreme, that's no lie, but he is completely screwed if he gets cornered.

Soul of the Flame Ignitor, that's who.

Crystaleer Prism Break, VV Camo, Lumbering Laserer Tree Rex, Pook Blade Saint Stealth Elf, and Blizzard Brawler Slam Bam also do.

Still, Crystaleer is easily the superior path (in terms of strength, fun factor is what you think). That's what the point's about.

Because he gets WAY too fast and you can't navigate it well around obstacles, especially not after Speed Heroics where it gets even worse.

If you touch the slightest edge of a cliff, you come right out of the ground and back into the surface, where you are most vulnerable.

The game has a really hard time keeping up with how fast Sandhog goes. In story mode, he swims faster than the camera can follow smilie

I don't think he's hard to control per se, just awkward.

slam bam is very fun on ice prison path, but blizzard brawler has some awesome combos

swarm is waaaayy better on barberous avenger.

L-bouncer it depends on your playstyle. i prefer robot rocketeer, but that's just me.

camos melons just get popped, so i get V V.

warnado is a beast on eye of the storm

ignitor is good both paths, on soul of tha flame is is one of the top 5 guys in the game.

These are just my opinion, others may disagree.

Dark Spyro - Blitz Spyro : it does higher damage
Ignitor - Soul of the Flame : it's just better
Stealth Elf - Pook Blade Saint : heinous amounts of damage but can get a bit boring
Camo - Vine Virtuoso : both paths are good but this one makes them more versatile
Warnado - Eye of the Storm : can't stand this guy but this is the better path
Swarm - Barberous Avenger : the other path is more fun but this one does more damage overall
L-Bouncer - Robot Rocketeer : both paths are good but the final upgrade on the other path is useless
Slam Bam - Blizzard Brawler : you get armour and high damage on this path
Fright Rider - Joust Jockey : this path is great whereas the other is only good

The robot rocketeer path is better, all ypu get on the other path is a 1 dmg upgrade for the fingerguns and more dmg on a very slow ticking attack. On the rocket path, you get to aim your rockets, fire tons at once, and they do more dmg.

But those aren't the only perks on IBS. Sure, the fingerguns don't add up to much damage, until combined with the soul gem. And the I-beam is not slow at first. It has a "jump start" or burst in the beginning that covers a large area, and the damage isn't that slow. It very high however, to make up for the slow speed. Plus, when added with the lasermines, the damage is extremely high. It's a much more versatile path if you ask me.

LightSpyro13 Blue Sparx Gems: 861
#1182 Posted: 23:17:34 22/01/2013
Robot Rocketeer is not as great as I-Beam Supreme, it's less fun and less versatile.

All it gives you is targeting 6 enemies and bigger explosions for the most part; the unlimited rockets are the only good upgrade. It's boring just spamming rockets all the time though, and the rockets descend slowly and can be dodged with speed in PvP, it'll let your opponent attack you right in the face.

I-Beam Supreme is the way to go, more fun anyways.

No. Robot Rocketeer is more fun, and stronger, and more versatile. The I-Beam is useless either way.
Mrmorrises Platinum Sparx Gems: 7027
#1185 Posted: 01:16:26 23/01/2013
No way, the I beam can conjure laser mines that add to the damage, it gets vicious powerful damage, and the shooting upgrade only makes it even better.
LightSpyro13 Blue Sparx Gems: 861
#1186 Posted: 01:18:34 23/01/2013
NO WAY! Robot Rocketeer is less fun, weaker, and less versatile. The Rockets are useless regardless of what you do, they fall way too slowly to pose a threat.

The I-Beam is close range only, and useless. You can run while attacking with the rockets. It's a tactic I found to be much more useful than I-Beam.
Mrmorrises Platinum Sparx Gems: 7027
#1188 Posted: 01:24:00 23/01/2013
I think that the rockets actually can act as great deterrant for campers, like Zook who might try sit there with his cacti and spam the mortar, but I beam supreme is DEFINITELY superior.
LightSpyro13 Blue Sparx Gems: 861
#1189 Posted: 01:29:10 23/01/2013
But you still can't spam the unlimited rockets while running, and only one rocket does a mediocre amount of damage and they still descend slowly.

Besides, their range is limited as well and they're only good for stupid campers in PvP who sit there and don't move at all (I'm always on the run, the smart way to go), or guys who have to camp to use specific attacks or for defense. And without I-Beam Supreme, smilie is AWFUL in close range.

Close Range is the magic of the I-Beam, he can finally do something in it.

Robot Rocketeer sucks against bosses, got my ass owned on it by Robo Kaos and the Chompy Mage.

Nu-uh! No way it's better for Bosses, it's good against regular enemies but bosses? Never! No such thing!

You can still get hurt when launching the rockets and they descend VERY slowly, you will have trouble when Robo Kaos will slam his fist upon you or his minions will zap you with the lasers, or Kaos will even hit you with his OWN lasers.

Ninjini is as equally fast (as shown in the strategy guide, though it's horribly inaccurate).

And don't forget, you are immobile while spamming the unlimited rockets or using the targeting computer (the most fun part about the rockets, but its useless).

I-Beam Supreme is a vastly superior upgrade path for Bouncer, especially in PVP, and I've used him in countless battles. I originally started out with the Robot Rocketeer path but even with unlimited rockets, they just don't fire away fast enough and even when they hit, they don't deal any serious death blows. Most of the time, an opponent can move away from the strike path anyway and get up close and attack you. I don't have Ninjini, but amongst the 7 giants I do have, Bouncer with the I-Beam Supreme path is pretty much unstoppable.
