I'm not a parent, but I just wanted to point out for those of you actually interested in trading in figures to GameStop (btw they give $4 for Cynder...I saw a used one and asked for more info about the trade-in...just for the heck of it) that they may not have told their employees how to reset traded-in Skylanders yet...and as tempting as it may be for some of you to leave a naughty word/phrase as a nickname for the next person to find, there's a very good chance these used figures will end up in the hands of a parent that has been having a hard time looking for figures and/or their child, so please, don't be a jerk and leave something bad for a kid to find. Just saying.

I have a silver Boomer and gold Drill Sergeant. I was wondering what to do with them. Might put them up on evilbay, or just give them away. I dunno.

^ I'm pretty sure that Gamestop wont give you more for them because they're cheap and it's not really worth trading in games or Skylanders. I gave them 15 barely used games (most of them new) and they only gave me about 20 bucks for all of them =/.

Being a Gamestop employee I can advise against trading in at Gamestop.
Always try to sell your game used to someone else. Craigslist even. You will never get a "Fair" amount for anything you trade in at Gamestop. Period.

Just saw some in gamestop today! They had 2 Gil grunts, 2 spyros and 2 trigger happys. They're in a little baggie; no card, no sticker no nothing.
And get this: they're only $4.49! I picked up a spyro, but now I'm thinking about getting the other 2. That's cheap as heck, especially if someone wanted to customize them.

A little while ago I bought the triple pack with voodood/prism break/boomer simply because I needed voodood so I traded the other two in at GameStop yesterday. Got $8.80 for both of them which I though was decent. More or less made up for buying the triple pack for just the one figure. I gave them the card, web code and sticker for each too so whoever rebuys those will at least get them.

That's not bad at all, especially if you want two of a few characters so you can take both upgrade paths.
Customization is a good idea too--might just have to give that a whirl if the used ones are so inexpensive. |

Now that I'm home, here's a pic:
I'm guessing either a lot of people returned the starter packs, or they're just selling the extra ones from a demo or something. The figure is in mint condition, so it's not like these have been run over by a car or something. Like I said, these'd be perfect for Customization or if you wanted to try the other path. EDIT: HOLY CRAP. Best. Deal. Ever. I loaded up Spyro on my game. He had the Crown of Light hat on, was already at Level 10, had over 4000 coins on him AND had 6 Heroic Challenges completed already. Totally rad. I feel bad that I just bought the Spyro now. I wonder if the Triggs and Gil were part of some team somewhere. The world will never know!

I ended up going to one of my local gamestops and got a gill grunt used! I am very excited now!
Also I thought it was ridiculous because I originally went there to get the used terrafin they had, and it ended up being like 16 dollars by itself!!! So I saw they had gill grunt and i just got that one for 5 bucks instead

Visited the same Gamestop and found not only about 20 some Cynders and a healthy selection of other Skylanders, but Gil and Triggs hanging on the bottom shelf.
FOR $2.99! That's right. They actually reduced the price on them. No Spyro left, so I'm glad I nabbed an extra on the first visit. Pretty sweet, now that I have a second set of the starter figures. Again, I'd encourage everyone to scope out their Gamestops, especially if you were even thinking about making a custom.
