Sorry if this has been brought up before but this has been nagging at me lately...
Now I live in a rural area so I don't know if it's just the stores near me but all of them have a relatively small Skylanders display area for putting out figures. Seeing as how there are 32 figures that come in various singles, 3-packs and adventure packs, there is no way on the world that the stores have room to ever say... put out a few of each figure. So basically, it seems to me we will always have the issue of older or less wanted figures hogging shelf space while newer or more popular figures remain difficult to find. I only imagine this will get worse as Giants comes out with all its new figures and the reposes.
It's not like stores can dedicate a whole aisle to skylanders. It just makes me think that this problem of space on the shelves will always make the Skylanders hunt difficult, especially for people who may be new to the game. I have this dream vision of a store that sells only Slylanders, where they have plenty of room to keep all figures on hand lol. Or a website where you can buy them directly from Toys for Bob or something but I'm sure with all the money these babies area making retailers I'm sure they really won't want that to happen.
Anyone else see this as an issue keeping wanted figures difficult to find in the future?

I like the idea of buying them directly from TfB. Otherwise there should be an employee that can be talked to who knows what the store has and can find it if there is no room of the sheleves.

Don't hold me to it, but there's room at most for about 50 single figures at a time. (going on about 5 per peg, and about 10 pegs) Since most stores usually get a few boxes, that's about 12-24 per week of new stuff, and if not, it just sits in the back. But I'd imagine that if they did have any in the back, it'd go out ASAP because of how popular the stuff is. (Although, there seems to be a few instances where that's no the case though.
Then there's stores like TRU which have a much bigger spot depending on the store, and Walmart has a new single display stand for extra singles, 3 packs and even the starter kits. Best Buy is the best in terms of room since they have really deep shelves that can store a lot, as well as a pegs. But really, I think what you're seeing is all that the store has in stock. Only a few times have i seen a store hold stuff in the back. There's stock in all the stores, and still some room for them to put out more. Actually, it'd be really cool if they could have a section of Skylanders on the regular toy aisle at like Walmart or target. That way they could have a ton of them out. But since they're more electronic items, they keep them over there. And I think what your recommendation of a dedicated store that sells them (Online at least) would be great. If we could buy them direct from Activision, even at a few dollars more (Like..$12 and then $5 shipping) wouldn't be too bad and would really save a lot in the long run. EDIT: @Moonlit: THAT! I wish that when new items in, the stores would educate employees on the new product, so they'd at least know what they're talking about. Or I'd hope that employees being bothered for 3 months about them would have at least looked them up online to see what the hubbub is about. I still get laughs when calling and having them read off the names. "Voood..uh.. dude?" "Uh..I don't know how to say these names. Dino..uh. Rang?"

Ok sounds like some of the issue then is just the area I live in. My Walmart has just a small section with maybe six pegs for singles and 2 for adventure/ triple packs. I have never seen them have an extra standing display and actually lately they've taken to just standing figures on the shelf and not using the pegs at all. Even the TRU that is closest to me (which is still an hour and a half away, boo) has only a slightly bigger display than our Walmart. I do remember when I was visiting my parents back in civilization for Xmas their TRU had practically a whole wall for skylanders. Unfortunately I wasn't into the game at the time... I still cringe thinking about what figures were sitting on that wall that i missed lol.

That's the normal layout for Walmart and Best Buy Skylander sections. Toys R Us have 12 foot sections. Gamestop has had to make more room.
Buying direct would be easy, but then again, Activision doesn't want to make it easy, or they would allow these to be preordered like they can at places like walmart.com, amazon.com, EBgames.com (Australia and Canada).
