Edit: Just kidding, "waves" are used to describe a set of Skylanders that are released by a certain date (street date). Most of the characters are released in waves of three. For example, Camo, Warnado, and Wham Shell are wave 5.

Waves is our term for defining the timing of release of groups of figures

for example the first group of figs released was wave one. The last group of figs is wave 5, etc.

Watch for sharks.

Sometimes they refer to waves as a new series.

When figures are assorted, they are assorted into waves, so each wave contains something different.

Haha all these jokes.

Wave 1 was basically Drobot, Bash, Sonic Boom, Prism Break, Voodood, Drill Sarge (Walmart Exclusive), Whirlwind (Target Exclusive), Stealth Elf, Zap, Boomer, Eruptor, Flameslinger, Stump Smash, and Chop Chop. (As well as technically the Legendary 3 pack figs; L-Spyro, L-Bash and L-Chop Chop) Also released was Pirate Seas (Terrafin) and Darklight Crypt (Ghost Roaster; TRU Exclusive)

Wave 2 is Hex, Dino-Rang and Wrecking Ball

Wave 3 is Empire of Ice (Slam Bam) along with Cynder and Double Trouble, and wide release of Drill Sarge/Whirlwind

Wave 4 is Dragons Peak (Sunburn; TRU Exclusive) and Lightning Rod and Zook and wide release of Ignitor

Wave 5 is Camo, Warnado and I guess Wham-Shell, if not, then Wham Shell is kind of like 5b.
