No, you can't jump in this game, danger, it's just a scripted action that shows the Giants jumping down to a hidden area that Skylanders can't do themselves.

That's not jumping, that's a Giant going down to its special area, only Giants can go down there, but in order to get down there, the Giant has to 'hop' up off the cliff into the area.

It's just a scripted action that the character model performs, like when you're following one around somewhere in the intro cutscenes in the original for new levels.
