A big thank you to Darkspyro.net [CLOSED]

I wanted to say thank you to this community for sticking together through all of our hard searching, chasing, hunting, and stalking of stores with calls and visits to get vital information out to the masses about what is available. I think without Darkspyro we'd have a lot of people without full collections and stressed out. I also think we drive the popularity somewhat by what we talk about. So for all your hard work at making this forum entertaining and something I thoroughly enjoy visiting on a daily basis. I raise my glass to you all with a cheers. And I wish you all the best in our future hunts, be it for Camo or for the Giants. Let us all be happily standing in line in the near future with tickets in hand for our next big purchase! Without you guys I'd never have put together 2 sets so quickly.

Thank you all again. Even the guy who rated me "most annoying" and dedicated a thread to it! Highlight of my life!

I consider you all my friends...as cheesy as that sounds, I do. I've met some very good, genuine people on here and it's rare in life to find that. So yes, thanks for making my boring life entertaining...now on to some Skylanders playing for me. And keep the updates coming!

This site has been an amazing way to get into a community of people who actually enjoy skylanders and do not just scalp them! I am glad I found this site, it has been the best ever!

We've both had fun posting here, too. (Yes, this is a shared account) It's infuriating at times, but this site has been our gateway to accurate information and a complete collection of figures. It's been fun contributing, as well. It doesn't sound cheesy at all to say that you consider the forum a set of friends, because you're hardly the only person who feels that way. It's a way for parents, kids, adults, and teens to share their enjoyment of this wonderful (but infuriating) franchise.

err, no, i don't think? it's some warhammer tournament from like four years ago. it's a crazy detailed titan model for use in the tabletop game.

I also want to thank everyone too for all of the information and help on DarkSpyro. There's no way that I could come up with all of these character release dates without the help of this site and I wouldn't have all of the characters that I own now. I wish that I was a little bit more helpful, I don't think that I've helped out as much as others on this site but hopefully I'll improve on this.

Wow, it's so nice seeing something positive on here other than the constant "EVRY1 IS SOOOOOO IMMATURE" (what do you expect, it's a kid's forum for a kid's game) complaint.
Nice to see the forum is helping some. ^^

Xerokills, I have to say that out of all the more prolific posters here, you are the one with whom I most identify. You are the more blunt, caustic me from years ago. You often say what I am thinking, and would have posted myself in the past. I wouldn't say that I have "matured", but I have toned down my Internet persona and tend to keep my opinions to myself. So, thank you for bringing some honesty and openness to this forum.

I will also thank the various posters, particularly in the Canada thread, for giving the heads up as to shipments of the figures. I do wish this forum had more discussion about the actual game instead of just acquiring figures, but maybe that will be during the lull leading to Giants.

I think that's what it's all about. Working as a collective machine to help everyone. Not this me first attitude a lot of people take. And yes, I do tend to open my mouth...but as I get older, I learn to put my foot in it a lot more than I open it. I probably shouldn't pick a verbal fight with GM78, but as of right now, he's come off as nothing but pompous and out for his own devices, with a hidden agenda. What it comes down to is he's here for himself first, and "maybe" others later. I want everyone to get their figures. I don't even care if I get them after everyone else. I'll find them. I do the legwork to get them. I don't show up on only Sunday with a van full of kids to get a bunch. I go out daily and find what I can to bolster my collection and help people local and try to get a bigger fanbase. I have talked to countless kids about them for 10-15 minutes at a time in stores. I've had plenty of pleasant conversations with employees and honestly have only made friends here other than a few who disliked my brash sense of honesty about things. And yes, I can be a bit of a know it all...from time to time. But at the end of the day, if I help 1 kid pick the right toy, then I'm happy. If I made a kid's day, then that's awesome. I have so many stories like that now already...and it's something I'll always remember about Skylanders because of it. It helps me still be a kid myself. Because lets face it...all of us adults are still kids at heart. smilie

And even if I dislike people on here, they are people and they have their goals...and we just have to remember to each their own. And all I ask is people be honest about what they do...don't cloud it with lies.

I find it amazing how skylanders has actually made a part of the forum where we get along and even help one another...somewhat. Go to stuff and nonsense and you wouldn't even know this is a forum based on a purple dragon. And of course I remember all the wars over Classic Spyro vs. TLOS. We just never really got along all that well. So yes, darkspyro has actually become a better, more useful site... as far as skylanders goes, anyway.

This forum has been a wonderful source of news and fun stories for me. Before I came here I felt embarassed that I was an 18 year old who had 9 Skylanders, which I thought was a lot to have when it's all for a corporate merchandise-driven kids game. Coming to this forum helped me feel secure about my hobby and taught me that it's okay to like something when it gives you enjoyment: Incidentaly, I now have 12 skylanders.

I think this forum is a great community, and it's really helped a lot of us to band together. We've been able to catch new Waves right when they come and snag the online stock whenever it appears thanks to one another. I myself know that it's been a great help. Thanks to this forum, I managed to get all of Wave 4 a week after it had been released. In the prior Waves, when I hadn't been a member or even known of this site, it had taken me a handful of weeks to get everything and even then I didn't really know what I was looking for or what a Wave was.

It's been so unbelievably nice to not feel like it's me versus the scalpers and the poorly informed employees.

And, xerokills, thanks for the contributions you make towards finding figures. It's been extremely useful and I really do appreciate it.

Thank God for this place. Not only is it fun to chat, but thanks to this site, I've found rare and popular Skylanders for no more than their regular prices.

Xerokills is right on point. I never knew about this forum a month ago, and now I can't live without it. It can get a bit salty at times, but I find the information sharing invaluable. Without all of you I would probably still be searching for several of the older figures. Thanks to everyone for your knowledge, stories, and suggestions. You are all the greatest!!

if anything...think of the gas you've saved not driving to 20 stores when you know exactly what store to check on a given day based on what people have spotted. Today is the perfect example. Walmart is the place to be. But a little birdie told me that TRU will have them very soon too. So if you're okay with waiting in line on Sunday or possibly Saturday...you may be able to avoid the chase...but I'd suggest the chase. Nothing is more gratifying than seeing the one you want on the shelf and literally making a head of steam to it and nabbing it like you are a champ! But dang...I burn a ton of gas getting these things I tell ya. I should get a prius...lol.

I'm in the same boat as you Toxic. I'm not worried about any though. You can get the 3 pack on ebay for around 50...but I figure when they rerelease it...I will grab it. If I do come across it again, you best believe it'll be posted here. I check about every day for it online at a cheap price

If my son didn't REALLY want the legendaries, I would be selling them (still in their boxes) along with Dark Spyro.
