when i phone tru/eb games (or gamestop)/bestbuy /walmart they say "we have (skylander)" and your thinking thats awsome i dont have it your like "can you hold it?" and there all like "no"

No, I do know what you mean. This Skylanders nonsense, specifically unavailability of new figures when there's seemingly been mass reprints of Eruptor, Chop Chop, and others, doesn't sit well with me either. Nor does TRU's price jack that went and spread to other stores. Nothing about this appeals.

But then there's that feeling when you buy a skylander you haven't ever seen before and none of that seems to matter.

After working in retail for a while, and I currently work in Gamestop, I can 100% understand the first come first serve policy on new or hots items. Holding an item has a lot of issues attached to it.

I also agree with the 1 per person deal. Yes there's always the mom you has two kids but there is always the scalper who ruins it for them anyway.

Yes, this is true, but I'd rather buy the Skylanders I haven't seen before at a store that's not Toys 'R' Us. Their pricing is awful, they aren't as abundant as stores like GameStop (so if you miss your shot... that's it), and they won't stop with the exclusives, so those of us with the sanity to be irked at them are constantly being forced to shop there anyway.

they're obligated to hold the item for you, unless it's on a special sale or something.
well, at toys r us at least.
