Activision said 100% of the 1st games toys work on Giants but does that include adventure pack levels will too and if so will it add new content or the same as in Spyro's Adventure?

It might be totally new levels based on the Adventure Packs.

Because there is no word on whether there will be new ones.

that is an interesting question. i hope the make a new level for all of them so that way we can play even more!!!

I'm imagining that because the Adventure Packs from Spyro's Adventure opened new chapters in the game that there will be new Adventure Packs for Giants. Quite simply, I don't think the old ones from Adventure will work.

I believe the old ones WILL work. Not sure if they're going to be releasing new adventure packs. They're only releasing like...8 new characters right? So I doubt they'd make 4 of them in adventure packs (or even 2 of them)

I'm thinking they're going to let you use the old adventure packs, but possibly...the same thing...redesign the characters in the adventure packs and possibly give you new items with them to tempt you to buy them again. But if you use your old adventure pack it'll be a redesigned level (the same as if you bought the updated version)

Just a guess but it seems logically like something they'd do.

Hmm.. that compilation certainly raises some questions. I don't recall ever hearing it being confirmed or denied that they would be able to be used. (Although its mentioned that Geekdad asked activision about it, id like a more official announcement)

After all, didn't we find that there would have to be 4 characters that weren't getting a remodel or lightforce variant?

32 new re-poses and 4 originals that will be light force ones. 36 total.

Maybe the adventure packs only open a new arena for PvP. Or just used as an in-game move.

Yah I could see them opening up a game arena something like that.... but by the looks of the graphic circle chart the old adventure packs will do nothing!

But I digress. I think that along with opening a PvP arena they''ll probably still act as a way to kill enemies too.

There is a lot of speculation in that article but I'm wondering now if they are even going to go higher than level 10 for Giants??? Has that been stated anywhere. I did read the article but don't remember seeing it. All I read is that the Skylanders from Spyro's Adventure can't gain exp. or levels in the new game and are at the same spot when brought over. Honestly don't think they need to go higher than 10 anyway.

if the location pieces don't open levels, will they still cause 999 damage to all characters on screen?

I doubt it, but I think the magic items will still work. I don't think they'll make completely new levels for the adventure packs to use in Giants.

i dont think they will redesign the 4 adventure pack exclusives. since its only 24 redesigns then 8 skylanders wont be. the eight im guessing will be the adventure pack and the 4 light force skylanders. thats if you dont count the other 5.

See I think no one is realizing that GeekDad is just speculating right now. In fact, he even mentions as such right in the comments. (Well, on the main Wired page version of the article)

In all honesty, it doesn't make any sense for them to release those 4 figures by themselves in single packs, especially since they're kind of "exclusive" in their own right. If we have similar level designs, all they really have to do is copy paste that code over into Giants, although I would certainly hope they unlock entirely new levels. Even if they don't, all they have to do is slap a Giants logo on the box and continue selling it. Hardly any work involved whatsoever.


Although, now thinking about it? The 4 missing could potentially be the 4 LightForce figures (Because if they were getting a remodel, why wouldn't they have them in the new cast rather than the old one, like we saw with Prism Break)

And as disheartening as it sounds...I'm figuring that the 4 adventure pack figures will still be packaged with the Adventure pack items (Because, what if someone wanted to pick up the original? How would they be able to get those new levels?)..but...be remodels. So they'll still continue to make the Adventure Packs, just the figures will be different. Which sucks for collectors a bit.

I don't know if you remember but in 5th grade we learned perswassive writing and that's what he just did

If they're smart they'll create new levels to unlock through the old Aventure Pack figurines. It would get those who already have some Adventure Packs even more excited about the new game ("New 'DLC' that we've already purchased?! Awesome!"), it would give new players a reason to track down the first games ("The Adventure Packs unlock even more stuff if I buy the other games?! Awesome!") and they wouldn't have to create new figurines ("We can make even more money of these figurines we've already made?! Awesome!").

Add a few brand new Giants(and possibly future games)-only Adventure packs for those of us who already have all the original Adventure Packs to hunt down, and everybody wins. Or at least Activision does, and that's what matters, right?
