Just purchased a Gold Chop Chop at my local supermarket. Couldn't believe my eyes when it was sitting there on the shelf. Tried to pick it up and walk casually to the check out without jumping for joy at what I'd just found. Now for the hard bit keep it or sell it.

Sell it, get more money, buy another Chop Chop if you didn't already have him with the money you made from selling it. That's the easiest decision to make ever.

Basically this. Unless you're a diehard collector and have intentions of getting the other shiny Skylanders, it's best just to sell it. You'd easily make back what you'd spend buying one of each figure at retail price.

Yeh I get the sell bit but want to take the kids to Disneyland. Having to save hard to get there. Recon on 2014 before we save enough. Do I cash in now or wait a while? Don't know if value will rise further. Want to put any profit into the Disney pot.

Oh, looks like recent sales have it valued between $70~100. Last time I checked it was higher.

I'm not sure which way to go on that. Activision said they won't make any more variants because of backroom sales deals, so they are definitely rare now. I would "like" to say wait on selling it, because it might go up when the Skylanders remakes come out... but I've never really been good at judging which direction the market goes, so take it with a grain of salt.

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. The bird I speak of in this case being the cash. I'd sell now, because Skylanders isn't going to be like this forever. It may go up, but it also may come crashing down, and I'd consider that just as likely.

I have one now cuz I'm a collector but I had one other one, and I sold it on eBay. Price started at 50. And I got 387.58 for it exactly. Die hard fans go crazy for this stuff. And it's not scalping if u start at a reasonal price and only do it once. I did it cause my son is sick and needed money bad. We all got our reasons. So sell it

I've got a silver Boomer. I always wonder if I should sell it one of these days. You'll always want to, even if you choose to keep it.

I found one too. I wanted to sell but Danger Boy said keep it. So we play him and will take him down a different upgrade path...
