toys need to be released from their packages and played with as they were intended to be ...

That took guts! LOL. I don't think I would be able to open that figure even if I had multiples. I just see no point when you can always purchase the regular version and use it even when the packaging is still on.

200 dollars to have something sit in a box forever? In 2 years these will not be that exciting and you will be able to get it for 50 bucks probably. I would open it...and it would sit on the shelf. The value of it is still at least 100 bucks. Nice photo too...finally someone who can take a clear shot.

*stares* It's so purty... I haven't even take my normal Cynder out of her box (but then I did only get her yesterday...)

The One of Swords toy fair Cynder giveaway is drawn today... I'm sure I won't win but I can still dream...

How did he ruin it? It´s probably just worth a little less, but still it looks a lot better out of the box.
I would probably do the same thing if I got a Toy Fair edition Cynder.
I didn´t know the paint was so glossy, it actually looks really good!

I beg to differ. Unless the Skylanders franchise ends in 2 years, these type of limited release exclusives always increase in value. By how much is always the million dollar question. If my estimate is right then these figures will fetch close to $400-$500 by the time the skylander craze peaks this year which should be around Christmas time. A pearl hex sold for $600+ because it was one of the few listed pearl hex and Im pretty sure we will be seeing less and less of the exclusive Cynder on ebay which will force the price to go up.

^Anyone remember that Dexter's Laboratory episode that was a parody on this type of thing but with Star Trek and Barbie/Dolls, I think that it was called "Star Check Unconventional". Skylander collecting always reminds me of it especially when someone says "NRFB".

It looks better without the box. There's no big deal taking it out of the box if you don't want to sell it.

I would have ripped Cynder outta the box that day. Lets be real, whats $200 now days? Enjoy the rare item as much as ya can. If its keepin it in the box or letting 'er breath.

That's exactly what I heard in my head when I saw NRFB. And then something came to mind. I forgot who it was in the episode but either dexter or one of his friends opened a new box and everyone went on the attack. Well I had an idea . . .

OP You should have videotaped yourself opening the Metallic Cynder. I would have really enjoyed reading the youtube comments on that.

I would also release mine from it's box if I had one, I just can't leave my figures in boxes. By the way, that picture you posted is the best I have seen of the metallic purple Cynder.

Also, it's "you're dumb" not "your" (not to mention your lack of capitalization, a comma and a period). If you're going to call someone "dumb" at least be correct.

As I stated multiple times before, if you buy things and keep them in the box for them to increase in value, YOU'RE A SCALPER.

THAT IS WHAT SCALPERS DO. They buy things for profit. If you buy a toy PLAY WITH IT. Otherwise you're scalping it.

Plus with Skylanders keeping them in the box is ridiculous. You can play with them IN THE BOX so you can put data on them and what not, so keeping them in the box and using them still makes it a used it.

You can keep it just as pristine as if it was in the box if you want too.

ALSO, is that metallic Cynder better than normal Cynder? Because I will happily buy another cynder and spray paint her metallic because that looks bad ass.

Wow man... I have total respect for you... I totally agree! The only variant I have is gold chop chop, and right when I got it I opened it up.

If u never plan on selling it its fine to open then. Also, maybe for giants if we highly request it, maybe blush bash, gold, silver skylanders can appear there color in ggame. Sick idea...

I am sure that the rfid chip has no details of the paint colour so can't report to the game that it is a variant.
