So, I've seen a few people post that they've gotten their L-Trigger Happy today.

I just got mine in a padded envelope and the plastic bubble area on the front is pushed in on a few spots. I decided to open it, but I did call about it, and they claimed they'd send me a new one if it comes back in stock within the 90 days. I really wanted to leave it in the box, but I'll just wait until I find one that's much nicer in the box.

Anyone get one damaged as well? I can't fathom why they decided to charge $5 for shipping and NOT put it into a box.

Join the club.. I got mine today and it was the first item i got from TRU that was in an envelope... usually they seend stuff in boxes...ill call and get another but i was more conderned about the preorder of blue bash

I've never ordered from TRU.com, but everywhere else I've ordered from sends them in a box. I assume TRU took the cheap route, because they figure that since it's just a toy it's going to be opened anyway, so the plastic cover will serve as protection. Collectors are the minority. Nonetheless, $5 does sound high for sending it in an envelope.

Yes - they definitely cheaped out on this one. Padded envelopes....pffft.. what were they thinking? Do they not know our US shipping CO's? ('fragile' is french for 'kick here'?) Actually I think these might have gone out via that UPS -> USPS hand-off.. <cold shudder> Mine is kinda crushed a bit. Good thing I'm gonna open him or I'd be pretty upset.

I just came into contact with a wealth of information, which includes this.

Starting on the 7th of March, they have started placing Skylanders in an envelope, IN A BOX, due to complaint about shipping damage.

So, when it comes to Blue Bash, they will be placed in an envelope and then placed inside a box. So, that should ease some worrying, even on my end.

I've only only ever seen a damaged Wrecking Ball.

Maybe for extra padding. Who knows. A box is better than not being in a box.

My guess is they are all already in envelopes, and opening those envelopes requires more effort than just popping them in boxes.

So they get shipped to TRU in envelopes now? Maybe the monkeys are at Activision.

Or maybe they both have monkeys on the payroll. That's more likely.

I'm sure their payroll does consist largely of lower order members of the primate family. Not trying to deny that.

What I'm saying, though, is they probably packaged a whole warehouse of Sylanders that they knew they were going to sell online into envelopes ahead of time, and when the backlash came, they weren't exactly going to sit down and unpack them. That would require time, effort, and giving a crap.

We had a mess with an order from TRU late last year. My boyfriend got the SDCC Halo Master Chief action figure (extremely limited edition) and it came the same way - crushed in a bubble envelope from UPSP. I called and complained, I told them it was a collector thing and that in the future, that stuff needs to be sent in boxes, not bubble envelopes (by then the figure was already sold out, of course) so they refunded my money and gave me a coupon for 10% off my next order. The figure came back in stock about a month later and we called and ordered another one, I used my coupon and they also gave me free shipping on my order. When I explained to the lady what happened, she said 'let me see what I can do' so she put me on hold, came back and said she couldn't tell me what packaging the figure was being sent in but she had one sent USPS and one UPS.

In the end, we got 3 total figures (for less than the price of 1) all in bubble envelopes. The 2 from USPS were both all smashed and the one from UPS arrived just fine in the end.

I, too, got in for a blue Bash preorder. However, I also plan to look for one in store. That way, when mine arrives smashed from TRU.com, I can open that one and keep the nice one I'm hoping to find in store.

Well, here's hoping what TRU told me is true, and they ship in boxes now.

I could not believe it made the trip and looked as good as it did!

I'm sorry, but that's really funny. Wouldn't be if it was damaged, but since its fine, that's hilarious.

a few years ago i got a toy from ebay in a "Mrs. Smith pie" cardboard box, like the pies you get in the freezer section at the store, and inside it even had some leftover pie at the top. i left a feedback for the seller saying like "item is good but packaging should have been better" and they replied all snappy saying packaging was a box blah blah and i said yes but "i didnt want any left over pie on my toy." i think i got a partial refund.

TRU is really bad. I ordered 2 SDCC Rodimus' (Rodimii?). They did come in a box, but still managed to both be damaged. I also ordered the SDCC Raiden and it came damaged in an envelope. Their shipping procedures definitely leave something to be desired.

Mine came today in the mail, and yep, the plastic in front was a bit smashed. We will open it though, so I don't care.
