I called best buy one night to see if they had any skylanders in stock, and the employee said they didn't. The next day i was over at my friends house and his mom had found like three skylanders from best buy that day! Anyone else have an experience like this?

Maybe your friends parents had bought the last 3 Skylanders they had so, by the time you called, they were out of stock...

Thread should be titled "Associate Lies!". Best Buy is no different than any other company. They have great associates, and they have bad associates. I have experienced both in most major chains, not just Best Buy. Whether the scenario mentioned above were true or not, the associate could have just been wrong. That does happen too. Not saying it's okay, just that it happens.

here in italy, near where i live, there's a gamestop wich lies a lot. they're always like "wait until next week", but the week after there's nothing. but if i skip a week, skylanders suddenly arrive lol
