Was at Wal-Mart, and was approaching the Skylanders display, suddenly a woman parks her cart in front of the display, and grabs ALL the single character stocks (including Cynder, dang it,) and dumps them all into her cart and runs off. Literally, runs off.

I asked her if I could have just one Cynder.
She flipped me the bird.

If I were you I would have reported her to one of the store clerks. If they wont do anything about it, I would've taken the Cynder from her cart ( only if she had more than one in the cart). The store should take action tho, especially if they see how many she has. I think all stores should have a limit on how many Skylanders you can purchases at a given time.

Forgive me for not believing that this actually happened.

^ I believe him, a similar thing happened to me but not with Skylanders, it was also at a Toys'R'US and it was Heroscape figures. A person cut me off and grabbed the last three figurine sets on the shelf. I didn't think to report it to a clerk though (I was only 12 or 13 at the time), it wasn't in as large of a scale compared to what happened to Arche but there are very rude and self centered people around.

I've seen far worse when Star Wars Power of the Force figures reached their peak.

Hope she keeps the receipts for the ones she won't sell.
Outside of Cynder, the other figures are not selling too good ont he auction sites.

Whirlwind the first to depreciate, then DT, but Cynder still goes for a nice chunk.

It happened so fast.

Took the woman less than a minute to clear the racks and then take off.

I was barely able to get in my question about letting me have just one Cynder.

And with her attitude, I guessed (more than likely correctly,) that if I even tried to grab a Cynder, she'd start a physical fight.
Not worth it.

I've heard that Target stores now will have a limit on how many people can buy at one time.
This won't stop the scalpers, but will slow them down a little.

You should have seen the nuttiness when the "Cabbage Patch Kids" and "Tickle Me Elmo" crazes were going on.

Hmm. I guess I'm new to this field of buying a hot toy item, so I've never experienced a scalper first hand. I guess if they're doing what they're doing to begin with, it's kind of easy to see that they, to put it politely, wouldn't exactly have a sunny disposition.

The more I think about it, the more I can believe this would actually happen. Sorry to hear that you missed Cynder because of a scalper. Just remember, "Things will turn out fine. The only time I ever stick up the finger is when a car nearly runs me down while crossing the street, which in B.C is sadly a pretty frequent problem. -__-

I encountered a scalper at Target today. They got shipments in of Wave 1 and 3. She had a whole cart of them. There was like only 2 left. I tried to take one, but she slapped my hand off. I tried to ask her very politely. I called the manager and he told her she can't take that much. The scalper got mad and was very rude. She put all of them back. I got everything from Wave 3! I beat the scalper.

My local target does. They said that people always come and buy everything and said they don't let other people buy them. She slapped my hand lightly by the way. The manager decided not me.

A few days ago. There was only one skylander left. It was a Drobot. I took it then, a man tried to pull it out of my hands. I flicked him off and said, "**** you". And left.

For my Birthday my mom ordered whirlwind off ebay for 50$ (i didn't know she was about to be released outside of target) and i waited a month for it to show up, turns
out it was a German pre-release and wasnt shipped, so we got our money back and were waiting for a new shipment of skylanders to come in, yesterday i got a call from my mom saying she got me the whirlwind three pack and the stump smash three pack! I was so happy!

In this case it's re-selling Skylanders figures, some of which are highly desired.

See I had the oportunity to be a scalper, three GITD wrecking balls, I decided to do the right thing and only buy one for myself, at that stage they were going for at least 200 Australian on ebay so that would have paid for my whole collection, but unlike other people I did the right thing.

May the entire world flip it back!

You and me both. But before the fur flies, I'd threaten them with lawsuits. Taking a Skylander from your possession is stealing. Touching you in any unwanted form or manner is assault and battery. Cameras are always on your side. Okay, not ALWAYS, but you get my point.

Threaten with lawsuits? Idk if this is just the country in me, but threatening someone with lawsuits over skylanders.... a little much. If someone messes with your truck/house, yes - lawsuit. But digging in your cart... you gotta handle that yourself.

An senior citizen told my wife and I how a person took a Skylander from her. She was at the video game register to pay for it and he snatched it, ran to the front of the store and paid for it. People can be crazy. Being a scalper now seems silly since stores have restocked. They can even be bought online. I'm a patient person and I haven't paid above retail for any Skylander.
