Does anyone else besides me, hope that Activision releases a better carrying/storage case than the two they did for the original Skylanders? We need more spaces in these cases lol.

But it would be cheaper to make your own cases. All my little cousin uses is a decorated shoe box that she stores under the tv.

Is the new portal bigger? I'm worried about real estate. Can there only be one (highlander lol sorry) giant on the portal at a time? I saw the pic with Tree Rex and Stealthy chilling on the portal together but there didn't look like alot of room left over. I also noticed that the giants can pick things up and throw them (i think I saw this). Would be cool if the giant could throw the normal skylander places otherwise unreachable alone.

No, the new portal is the same size. The Giant toys are just a little bigger than the regular sized Skylander toys.

its getting pretty old now explaining how the figurines work with the portal and game.... looks like these people have been living under a rock and never googled skylanders before... show us more of the new skylanders and giant game play.... please, or just shut up!

My face when none of these people "reporting" thought to ask a TFB or Activision rep what the name of the one character we have no information about is. Like seriously.

@isling: The new portal is the same size, but they claim that 2 giants can still fit on there. Personally, when I'm carrying out my figures to plug the portal into the computer for Universe shenanigans, I can fit about 5 on it.

Anyway, the game will come out in fall, the names might change like 10 times before it comes out.

They already said that the Giants will be more expensive yes, but we don't know the price yet.

if you have the wii version you buy the wii version of giant... or are you suddenly going to buy the xbox version, when you have a wii and not a xbox?... anyway there is said they are going to release a version without the portal, so you can save a few bucks if you have the first game. the giant will cost around $35 each....

This site mentions that the starter pack will retail for $69.99. So, I'm guessing that'll be for the one WITH the portal? So then one without will probably be about $49.99 or $59.99.

i know... i have tried but couldnt find it among the 40++ sites. these giant news stuff grow 10++ a day so its not easy to find, if your not keeping the link when you first find it... anyway i am sure the price will be mention again somewhere...

Dumb question about the redesign: does it mean that we don't need to buy them since in-game, they will be the exact same thing as the old ones? I wouldn't have doubted that, if it wasn't for the part saying "with new items". I can guess that those figures may have some of the extra items you gain through your upgrade (like new boomerang for Dino-Rang, or armor for others, etc...), but I just want to know if Activision was precise about this point, and confirmed that there will be no reason (ohter than "real life" collecting) to own those redesign in the game if you already have the old ones.

There really hasn't been any mention of any real difference in game besides what we saw in Zook's vid. It appears that some of the attacks have new animations, but I'd hope they have some sort of other significant change.

In the least, I'm guessing the other 3 Lightforce ones will be new sculpts, unlike Prism Break.

I'm guessing this can all be coded in-game since the characters are on the disk anyway to begin with. So new or old figures may have those new attack animations indeed, so we don't lose anything for just keeping the old.

In a way, I would be really angry if they would give some kind of bonus to those who buy the new redesign of old figures. Would make all this forward compatibility kinda pointless since they would become inferior to the "new" version. I hope that the "real" new in-game characters will stay the 8 giants and the 8 new standards.

The Skylanders Facebook page has a pic of a big promotion banner from Giants...and Spyro is very big on this banner together with a Giant ,Gill Grunt and Trigger Happy...So who says Spyro is not more important in the sequel?

That video shows that Lockmaster Imps will be returning. Personally, I was hoping they'd introduce a new lock puzzle. They could still have a new puzzle as well, I'd just prefer if they were going to add a new one they removed the old one.

Humph. I didn't care for those Lock Puzzles very much. They were ok a few times, but they got annoying after a while.

Wow! I like that billboard! It really makes me thinking that Spyro, Gill Grunt and Trigger Happy are still the leaders of the Skylanders (like in the first one).

Oh no... the Lock Puzzles was the first time funny but later in the game was it annoying. I hope they make more different puzzles and minigames in Giants. :/

I actually like the lock puzzles. But I do think they slowed the action down a bit. One can only hope that they've been changed up for the better in Giants.
