I wonder how they will do the starter pack???
If the current portal works with this new game, many of us will not need another portal, right?

Maybe the game will be cheaper and just be sold separate?

Then again maybe they will throw in the Tree-Rex Giant and charge $69.99 or more?

There might be many versions of the starter pack???

I'm guessing there will be some exclusive characters again like there was with the 3DS starter pack. We have the Xbox version and bought the 3DS starter pack just to get the exclusive ones, then sold the pack on minus the characters.

The only ones we don't have now that have been released are the legendary ones. I would hate to think were going to have to buy another starter pack just ensure the kids get all the characters = nightmare!

i was wondering the same thing about the starter packs. Before i started reading this thread I was thinking either the normal one with the portal or just the normal game then having to buy the "starter triple pack" separate. I think that way would take up less shelf space. But that also raises the question of packaging all together. Are the giants all going to be single packs? for maybe like $15. I was also thinking double packs. 1 giant and one normal skylander for like $20

I agree. I'm sure I'll be getting the starter pack with another portal. With a 7 year old, having replacements of anything is generally a good idea... at least with my 7 year old...

i think there will be 32 different starter packs each comes with a giant (likely tree rex) a new skylander(possibly alchimist or the eagle guy i call him sgt eagle) and then a origanal skylander so if you have everyone but let's say boomer you could choose the boomer starter pack or if you got the origanal 3ds version the gill grunt starter pack

If a parent is that stupid to get a (most likely more expensive) version with the portal when they have it already, then it isn't Activision's fault.

I think the problem is the existence of the starter packs themselves. Just sell the damn game separately at this point. Not everyone wants all the figures and certainly even more people do not want a redesigned figure! Thank heavens for Gamestop!

if its a new spyro to show he's still a part then it will be vac eagle cause spyro and alchemist are in the same element

idk if its true but the starter pack for one of the systems (i dont remember which one) consists of tree rex, airgle (this is the confirmed name of the bird skylander), and the remodeled cynder

A Giants article in the June 2012 issue of Nintendo Power has info on the starter packs:

- Starter pack for 3DS will have game & portal with: Tree Rex, Cynder repose, and Alchemist (article is now calling him Pop Fizz)
- Console starter version will have game & portal with: Tree Rex, Cynder repose, and Vac-Eagle/Airgle (article is calling him Jet-Vac)
- Booster pack with game (no portal) will only have Tree Rex. This is different from what we were previously told

Don't know if this info is 100% accurate, but Nintendo Power states they are getting exclusive info from Activision. The booster pack with only one giant is kind of a bummer though.
