So, considering normal Skylanders cost around $/£8, how much do yous think Skylander Giants will cost (I'd say about $/£10-12)

Hopefully around £15 or less

I would expect it will be 1.5x to 2x a regular single figure. Doubt if there will be three packs of giants. And the release also said there will be 8 more regular sized characters released, right?

So, even if prices are the same $8 for regulars, and $12 for the giants, that's already $160 plus the cost of the new game. If everyone goes the Toys R Us route and prices become $10 and $15 (or even $20 wouldn't shock me), then you're looking at another $200 to $240 plus the cost of the new game. And that's also assuming no expansion sets, which could obviously happen.

This game is too expensive.

They'll be less of them, so I don't think it'll be too much of a problem if they cost more. I presume they'd be somewhere about £15, maybe £14 so they're just twice as expensive.

And I'm wrong on top of it. I thought I saw originally that there would be 8 giant and 8 regular figures released, but apparently there will be 20 new figures. Maybe the extra 4 are expansion packs? That's where my money is at.

I will not be paying more than $12 for a giant figure. Anything more than that is beyond the "yea why not" price point that parents, like myself, are willing to spend. Honestly, add it all up people:

$50 for the new game sans portal
8 x $12 for the giants = $96
8 x $8 for the new 'normal' figures = $64
4 x $10 (no way they dont charge more for the feature) for the new 'light up' figures = $40

All told. $250 for a new game and the accessories. That is assuming the prices are what I have them at. Just add $8 for each dollar over $12 for the giants, and another $8 for each dollar over the $8 for the normal figures. SO say it is $15 for the giants and $10 for the normal ones. That brings the new total to $290!

Even though they will appear as giants in the game the figure does not have to be a bigger then an normal Skylander.

Of course they don't but it makes it more consistent if they are, it also means Activision can charge more for them.

I hope you are not going to exceed the price.
Today I rise in price at all, at an alarming rate.

I think that the game without portal would be more around 60$, as it still comes with 3 figures but without the portal.

I wonder..does anyone think the new game will come with another Portal? Or will they sell it seperately if someone wants to play this one, but not the new one.

I'd see it as having Spyro, Gil and Triggs, maybe with new poses *cough*likethatprototypefigure*cough* and maybe a giant in the box as well?

I hope it is, and that he is one of the redesigned characters.

I don't think that the gameplay was problematic.

Well I do wonder if the giants are going to be a special buy. Or something that you have to get in order to finish a level.

What in the "H" "E" double hockey sticks am I going to do with 50+ skylander figures? Not to mention the expansion pack add-ons?

Kills me to think that some day I am going to be putting these things in a box and pack it in our basement (or sell them in a garage sale or *gasp* just throw them away).

You guys do remember that even if you take the game without the portal, you still have 3 characters with it? So I think that 60$ is more realistic.

They are more than twice the size of a regular Skylander and they do additional things in game...plus I think they said the Giants light up when near a portal. $20 seems right. Plus there are only 8 of them and $20 will place a pretty high value on something we already want. lol trust me I hope I'm wrong and they are like $14.99 or something along those lines.

They were way too expensive for what they gave you access to in the game.

I thought there would be whole new levels and whatnot just for specific characters, but all they get is short puzzles.

We'll probably be seeing it at the same price the Expansion/Triple packs are. $24.99, with figures being $9.99 everywhere.

Maybe we'll get lucky though, and they'll have it at like $14.99 for Giants, $9.99 for figures, $19.99 for any triple character packs/expansions. I don't see them releasing a 3 pack with Giants in them though.

This X100. A Star Wars fig that does nothing other than offer a movable joints is $9.99 each at TRU. Toy prices are through the roof right now. I personally think they should add articulated joints and an option to remove them from their bases to play with as action figures...then they would be the Uber Figures!!!

You can't really play with Skylanders figures. I wouldn't want to risk losing them or ruining them.

A decent Halo fig is like, 15 bucks! I'm a collector and It's hard at those prices!

I am Canadian too....Our figures are only $7.99 at Wal-Mart and Toys R Us and E bay games.
Best Buy and Future Shop charge $9.99.

Is that $7 = $6.99 or is it $7.99? I honestly don't see how with the currency differences, dollar, euro, pound, and canadian dollar, all different that we still have a uniform 8 (10 in some places) price point.

I think the returning skylander will be wham shell since he was the only one without a release date all his release date was was summer

6.99$, and even though the canadian dollar is strong, when you pau 9.99$ for something (the toys) we pay the same price here, 9.99$

Given that the Oz dollar trumps the greenback, how do you think I feel when the RRP on a single SL fig is $16 (always has been and still is, to date)? That said, our TRU stores simply sell at RRP and some chains sell under ($12-13 when first came out).

Then again, the price one pays to live in a civilised nation, I suppose...

I would doubt that. If he's not out, he couldn't return, right?

The obvious answer would probably be Spyro, granted he's one of the more important ones.

Quite possibly, We'll see Spyro as the returning one, TreeRex as the Giant (he's been used thus far in all the promotional stuff), and probably that Bird Skylander as the new one. (Not Alchemist because you'd get 2 Magics and a Life.)

I think skylanders will work just like that Buzz game on ps2. Where you bought the buzz controllers with or without game then bought more sequels. Of course there will be packages with the skylanders portal for people who don't already have it.Which can't be to many. I hope the 3ds version will be longer this time. Was way to short but it's a faster way to level up your skylanders. Especially in ashburrows i can get over 800 points in that level alone.
