The Dark Master became too power hungery with his powers when he discovered them and was cast into exile because he would not comsuming everything. That won't happen to Spyro wil it? I mean Spyro has pure heart. (Not inculding being hit by the dark beam.) He won't turn on his people right? He's their hope.

I doubt it. But you never know what could happen. Guess we'll find out the answer to this question (as well as many others) when the game is finally released to the public.

It has pretty much been proven that Spyro has the same dark power as the Dark Master. In A New Beginning, Spyro, when pushed to his limit, had his dark power awaken and in The Eternal Night, his power was awakened again when he was subjected to a huge amount of dark power. The first time, Spyro remained in control... but the second time, he was driven to madness even if just for a short time and if The Eternal Night's ending is any indication, Spyro is beginning to realize what he is and what it implies.

Namely, even if Spyro does overcome the Dark Master, the fact is that the two are basically the same. The danger of Spyro being consumed by the same power that consumed the Dark Master, thus causing him to take the Dark Master's place is very possible.

Although one could throw the "pure heart" excuse around, it is fairly irelevent from what I understood of the plot so far ; the Dark Master was implied to be originally good. He was corrupted, he wasn't evil to begin with.

There are still many pieces of the puzzle missing. Dawn of the Dragon will hopefully give all of the revelations and close the story in a satisfying way. Is Spyro's ultimate fate a happy one or is he cursed like the Dark Master?... and if it's the later, can Spyro oppose fate and overcome it?

I posted this same thing on another message board: It would be SOOO sweet if you could join the Dark Master at the end, and begin a new life of evil and destruction! Muhaha!!!

I'm pretty sure that Spyro goes insane and hurts a good character badly. All because that he looses a life that he once knew and was once taught. also He looses cynder, Ignitus, and sees all the things he did wrong. All of this because the DM being like a father at the end, then falling onto the lava of dispair. Yeah spyro becomes very misreable in the end, just because He didn't really know what he was doing. *this is what I think.*

Well, maybe spyro will become the new dark master. And in the end, cynder may have to battle him.

or spyro has to fight dark spyro..........

I doubt that even the TLoS series will have an ultimately miserable ending. From a narrative perspective it is not a good choice.

Was directed at me? If so, I am truly addressing those who hope for a miserable ending, a type of ending to which I am not a fan anyway.

Spyro will probably be troubled at some point in the game, either struggling with his dark side, or trying to brek free of the Dark master's hold on him (I think the DM will start talking to Spyro/Cynder like how the Chronicler did in TEN). He or Cynder may also be distraught due to the Chronicler's prediction.
