Does Spyro work on handheld consoles? [CLOSED]

I noticed last generation the Spyro franchise was very much geared toward handhelds. We had, what, 2 console games and 5 handheld ones?

Skylanders on the 3DS came out well but those other games.. Not that much, maybe SL aside. They should have focused on console games last generation.

If by "work", you mean the mechanics being suitable to a handheld, yes. TEN was great on the GBA, and DotD on the DS was pretty good.

A Classic Spyro style game on the 3DS could easily work.

I enjoyed the first three Spyro games on the GBA (SoI, SoF and AotR) because it's free roaming just like the console games. However as for Fusion, it goes to show that a Spyro game does not work as a side scroller.
