If I bought a 3 pack but wanted to keep them MIB, could I still play with them or would trying to put the 3 pack on the portal cause a conflict as the figs are too close to each other?

It works with the Legendary pack. But you need to have something to prop up the ends or else it'll slide off the portal

unfortunately so many people are buying skylanders as an investment and keeping them mib that in the future mib will not be hard to find

just open the box and enjoy them the way they were intended to be

you won't be able to quickly scan the characters if you're playing w/ them in the game. i gave up and just opened mine. the ones at the end aren't hard to scan it's the one in the middle that's tricky... you have to place it near the edge of the portal so only the middle one is mostly sitting on the portal. hope that makes sense...

BerryShaker about sums it up. You can do it... just don't think that switching characters is going to be a viable part of your game, and magic items could also be a hassle.

I generally open the packs but if I found a 3 pack with a hypothetical gold variant in it, I would want to be able to play with the others but not ruin the packaging.
