99% chance of a teen rating [CLOSED]

If you guys saw on the intro, you would have probably fainted if you were younger than 12. http://lair.spyrothedragon.com/dawnofthedragon/us/ this was the site that I got the information about the ESRB saying *may contain Content innapropriate for children. Just keep in mind that this game will be intended for the younglings that just reeached their teen years. Also, this game was made by another company, so you may find mor content in the game.
this is what might be in the game, content wise

  • Fantasy Violence - *duh*
  • Blood - *only minor scenes of it*
  • Mild suggestive themes
  • Mild language - *only briefly*
  • Comic misthef - *the final piece of content.*

Like I said 99%

Hey, lots of young kids couldn't play TEN because it was too hard for them. It just depends on the kid. I know youngsters who play Resident Evil, a game I can't play because it scares me too much, and I even saw a copy of Tomb Raider Legend for sale at Toys R' Us. Also, keep in mind that this might be a little nod towards us older fans who've sort of hoped for a more adult game for years (I never cared, personally, but I have always wanted to see an older Spyro, which I'm getting here, so that makes me happy smilie).

They said that there will be no blood.I'm not sure about suggestive themes and language.Spyro games are aimed toward kids,so I doubt that it will contain anything inappropiate. But,I'd still play this game if it had these in it!smilie

Despite the violence of these two games particular style, Spyro manages to pull the best elements while still remaining kid friendly. For instance, Spyro's ability to harness the elements features a Kratos-like electrical area attack that will take out multiple ememies at the same time. The spouting fountains of blood and severed limbs however, are absent.

Not sure where it came from, zacoda had posted this. But it said "fountains of blood",so maybe there may be a little blood?

Spyro and bloody violence? I dunno... I mean, it does make sense to have a LITTLE blood in a video game with elements of combat in it. Take Interactive Fantasy for example. If I were to make a video game with some violence in it(which I would), then of course there would be SOME bloodshed. I mean, come on, if a guy gets stabbed, then he's gonna bleed a little! It's the way of nature! You sever the skin, you sever the vessels, and if you do that, blood comes out! When guys get stabbed or sliced in a game and there's no blood AT ALL, it's like there's something missing. I mean I wouldn't go overboard and spill a character's guts on the floor, that's just gross. But a little blood, for realism and satisfaction, is, in my opinion, necessary.

Well, I think it's mostly mild decapitation for the Gore. Also, I don't think that this game is all that bloody. Maybe one scene of blood shed, but only mild Blood and Gore.

I just checked the esrb site, and from what I can tell.....

Fantsy Violence- E10+
Blood and Gore . . . -----*it's very mild, I promice*- T
Mild Suggestive Themes- E10+
Mild Language - E10+ (the teen rating includes infrequent use of strong language)
comic mischef - E

so from what I can tell, there is a great possibility that it might be rated E10+

Decapitation is gore and according to the ESRB ratings guide Blood and Gore content is defined as "Depictions of blood or the mutilation of body parts". Games with this content are rated between M to AO which would rule out children under 17, although not where I live.
With this in mind, I hope you can forgive me if I am somewhat disbelieving.

Apart from that, your content predictions seem reasonable. Personally I like the sound of suggestive themes.

Even if it IS given a T rating, it doesn't bother me. Though we go under the PEGI system out here (3+, 7+, 12+, 16+ and 18+) it still doesn't affect me as such; amidst my pretty intense collection of games spanning across the consoles I've collected in the past (Genesis, PlayStation 1/2/PSP, Game Boy range, DS, Wii, GameCube), 15 games that I own have the equivalent of a T rating attached to them, one of which having a 15 rating from the BBFC. It can be good to help adapt to ratings, but all it tells you is that you may need support while you're playing if you're not quite old enough to play them.

really, if it's given a T rating....it's going to be on the VERY mild spectrum.
My mom won't care because it's Spyro and all and once she looks up what all is in it and stuff she'll just give me the o-k. Even though I'll be 16 at the time. But she still likes to check out what I'm playing and such.

Yeah, similarly people were exchanging eye glances at me when I wanted to take a look into Bully (that one game I mentioned with the 15 rating out here), and I'm 21!! But I keep telling them that I am just being obedient with age ratings, and I always have been.
