I took into account that each of the dragons were born 30 years earlier during the year of the dragon. Spyro's egg hatched first, after it was recovered from the egg thieves. Flame and Ember hatched later. Now, take into account that if you divide 2 by 30 you get 15 in human years. Spyro, going by dragon age standards, is a very young teenager at thirty. Flame and Ember are as well.

Well it depends on what continuty you're talking about. If you mean the original continuty, I would have to say that he is thirteen at about the time SL takes place. The fact that Spyro would be born at the Year of the Dragon, an event that takes place every twelve years, in Spyro:YOTD, he would be twelve. ETD, SOI and SOF all take place in the Year of the Dragon, and I imagine that Adventure would take place in that year too. Then, if I'm right, AHT would take place at either the end of the following Spring or the beginning of the following Summer, with SL definitly taking place at the end of Summer. As for the new continuty, going on what I heard in some preview, he is about eight years old.

I am talking about the corrected original continuty I developing for and using in the upcoming 2008 film and games that are currently in development. Spyro is 18 in my Spyro: Dragon of Destiny series that takes place two years & 1/2 after the film. I don't go by any of the screwed up Vinvendi or Krome plotlines. Too much confusion and contradiction are in those plotlines, Michael. The Insomiac Games timeline is being used with a mix of the Vinvedi & Krome storylines blended in.

Also, let me correct you by saying that the young Spyro featured in Legend of Spyro is not the same Spyro. The Spyro in this new game was born in an age that takes place a long time before the original series storyline takes place. I would place this game in the Forgotten Realms long before the dragons left for the Dragon Realms of the original Spyro storyline.

The new Spyro is around eight years old. As for his connections to the original Spyro I would have to say that he is his ancestor. The keeps both versions of Spyro seperate but linked and avoids a whole lot headache down the road when it comes to the plotline. As for the whole age issue of the original Spyro I have to say that it is rather confusing due to all the errors in the timelines of the GBA & Console games. The games skip weeks and months of Spyro's life. There are many gaps in the storyline as a result of this fact. I would have to say that Spyro's age at the time of the YOTD is clearly much older then 12. I'd say about 13 if we were going by human years and not dragon years. I am going by rough estimates and guesses that the YOTD Celebration isn't the first one he has celebrated in his lifetime. It's his second. The first one took place before the first game when Spyro was very young. The YOTD that took place before that one was when Spyro, Ember and Flame were born. I am sure there are other dragons around that are within the same age group as Spyro, Flame and Ember but due to the fact the game focused on Spyro so much well.... There is no way to know for sure.


However, I do believe he was about 11 years old when he battled Gnasty Gnorc in the first game. 11 going on 12 years old when he met Hunter. Then around the time of YOTD he would be close to 13 if not 13. I am going to say 13 due to the change in his appearance and also to simplify things. 15 going on 16 and that is the age I am going by for the 2008 film. Feel free to say he is 13 because in truth his true age isn't stated anywhere in the official info.

It is true that Spyro's age(of the original continuty) is never mentioned in official canon though one thing is for certain, he would still be only a child or teenager going on dialouge that has been said over the course of the ten games.

Jamieque, if the Year of the Dragon that took place in YOTD was the second one Spyro had attended, would that not make Spyro twenty-four or older.

Spyro's age, going by the timeline of the upcoming film would make him around 27 in dragon years. He is a teenager. Michael, the way I figure is that Spyro's egg was laid 36 years earlier. His egg didn't hatch right away. The way I see it his egg hatched six years later. He was in his egg a long time. So what you have guessed is correct. The way I see dragon biology is that for the first few years of a dragon's life they age rather quickly but as soon as they reach their early teenage years their aging greatly slows down. Dragons , from what I have figured and will be using in the film and following projects, go through growth spurts and aging speed ups and slowdowns at variest times throughout their lives until they reach their adult years. Then they age at more steady rate.

i would say Spyro is about 15 because he often shows his "i can do anything" attitude as 15 year olds generally have, like myself

Jamieque, in my calculations of Spyro's age I used facts from the original continuty and the original continuty only, and not from convulted fan-fiction.

ETD - 13 (SOF and ETD both were released on the same year)
AOTR - 14
AHT - 15
OTCC - 15 (AHT and OTCC both were released on the same year)

ANB (right now) - 17

So, why do you think? I think he's 17 right now.

no he's not 17 in ANB cuz they started over the spyro series so he's actually younger than he was in STD.

as far as i've worked out he is about 5 in ANB,7 in STD,8 in GTG,just 9 in YOTD,10-11 on ETD and 12 in AHT!!!!

ANB is a reboot, not a sequel, not a prequel, but a reboot. It is a different Spyro, taking place in a totally different fictional universe.

i read on a website that dragons can live for thouands of years though... so maybe hes 15! so like in the 1st game he was four, then five... then maybe five agian lol, then six!
