Here is the voting topic for my poetry contest that was entered.

You do not need to have entered anything for you to vote. Feel free to vote at will.
YOU MAY ONLY VOTE FOR ONE PERSON.
The person with the most votes wins. Everyone is eligable, no matter how many poems they have.

A Smile Exchanged

A smile exchanged
Is nothing without feeling underneath
We wait for another to grow out
While we conceal our true feelings
Beneath smiles exchanged
We wonder if the other is happy
The hidden feelings will surface again
For the sake of a broken promise
But we know it is not the truth
The lies buried deeper
'the feelings have desterted me
Or lowered in their quantity'
We know the lies are never true
While our felings lie hidden
Under smiles exchanged.

HeartBeats

I can feel your heart beat
Beating close to mine
I can feel our hearts beat
Beating together in time

Lying here I wish that this
Moment,it would last
But I knwo I feel your heart beat
Beating from the past

I can fell your heart beat
beating close to mine

The Embrace

Return into the Darkness...

A True Friend

He has golden brown hair,
and dark brown eyes.
He has some white in his hair,
making him look wise.
Though some may criticize,
the idea would never cross his mind.
Some may even tell lies,
but he is much to kind.
A better friend you will not find,
for a loyal friend is he.
If you are ever in a bind,
by your side he will be.
I have known this good friend since before I was nine,
And there is no better friend than my sweet canine.

Prison

I'm in an empty room,
Sitting on the floor.
I searched for an exit,
Couldn't find the door.
They locked me in here,
With no hope of escape.
If i could get out of here,
Maybe i could reach the cape.

I want to get away,
As far as i can go.
I don't care about the price to pay,
I'll jump in a boat and row.
I'll keep going until i'm free.
I won't let them catch me.

There's too much to do,
Too much to be done.
I'm tired of working for you,
Now i'm only looking out for number one.
I don't care what you say,
I don't care how you feel.
'Cause i'm going to get away,
That i mean for real.

You've taken every part of me,
There's nothing left to take.
I'll run away to be free,
I'm giving myself a permanent break.

Because of you, i feel empty, i feel dead.
My only sactuary is the world inside my head.
Do you know what it's like to feel nothing inside?
Well, i do, and there's nowhere to hide.

This place is like a prison,
And i can't find the door.
I'm not going to give in,
I can't take this anymore.

I stopped caring about things,
And I lost my motivation.
I have no will to go on like this,
I need a vacation.

I'm just stuck inside this prison,
But I will fight to get out alive.

Lost in a void you can't hear my voice.
Can you even see me?
Are you blind? Are you deaf?
Or am I...?
I've decided that if you can't see me that I'll do crazy things until you can...
Please try to understand that the crazy things i do are my voice now!
And if you can't understand my message I'll just speak another language until you understand.
I miss you.
So try to see me! Can you hear my voice?
With insults flying I might drown!
Lost in that void i just can't reach you...
Try to take my hand.
I can't tell you how i feel anymore.
So I'll make up my own language, one you'll under stand!

Why is it that you're so oblivious to the obvious in the end?
I'll just sit here and not exist this time.
I've given up and want to cry.
You're blind and deaf, you can't hear my voice.
You couldn't understand language at all...

Farewell
I look back at the room I've known forever. Then i try to remember it's color.The friend i had in there, why can't i here that voice anymore? The world i knew is but a dream. Why must i wake up now? I don't want to leave it yet, i might forget...
The room was once so bright, but i can't tell anymore.How come it's so dull now? The friend i had in there, he never existed. But i still want him to! The things i believed with all my heart are slowly fading away. Why is it now that all i see is a dull grey? In this world where color once was, it seems i cannot stay. But why is that? I don't want to leave anymore!
It turns out the friend i has a form that cannot move or speak. But I'm about the leave this room, and leave that friend all alone. Goodbye Mr. Rabbit, i don't need you anymore. But why is it now as i leave that this room has a clear color? I don't want to leave anymore! But i have to! And when i do the door will be closed forever.
