I had a virus a year ago. Never quite got rid of it. Search Engines like Google will screw with my computer BIG TIME.

Ok, thank you

A ROM, in the case of what the rules relate to, would be an illegal copy of a cartridge based game, such as GameBoy, N64, GBA, DS and so on. An ISO would be the disc equivalent.

hmm weird, me and a friend were talking about this only afew hours ago. from what he said, it's an illigal way of getting models off game disks. so if you ask someone to get a spyro model of the disk. i don't think thats all it is though, you'd have to cheack.

A rom is a "inside" of a disc contain zillions of files 2 ways to use a rom
1] use it on emulator
2] copy it to a disc example you download a spyro rom than put it to a blank cd than you can play spyro in a psx for free <this method commonly used in indonesia

That would be an ISO, a ROM is used for cartridge games.

It's called an R4 cartridge. I believe they have a special one for the DSi, called R4i.

^That was my reaction when I found out roms were illegal (my brother had them before I was born), but it's no big deal. I still use them.

Its only illegal IF you don't own the actual game.

Only time I ever use ROMs is if it's a game that never came out over here in NA. For example, Mr. Driller A is only available in Japan (which is a darn shame because it's a great game), so at first, I played a ROM of it, but after that, I decided to import it because it was very cheap and the GBA itself doesn't have region-lock.

So yeah, I don't use ROMs anymore. I rather own a legal copy of a game than playing it illegally.

I only use ROMs if I want to try out a game. If they game is good, I get the real copy, and delete the ROM version. If it's horrible, you should know.
