Should I get the Original Spyro games? I don't have a PlayStation, only a PlayStation2, and I've only experienced the TLoS games. But are the games worth buying?

Yeah, but the only reason a lot of people would play them nowadays is due to nostalgia, if you haven't played the games before, they may be kind of too easy and maybe a little boring overtime.

Yeah it's 100% worth it, especially Spyro 1.

Oh, definitely! They'll play just fine on your PS2 and, even today, they're still considered good games (the PSN releases scored around the 7-8/10 range, which is pretty good). They're very different from LoS, but if you like the Ratchet and Clank games (especially the first one), you'll like these.

They're very fun smilie The focus is more on collecting and exploring than combat (there are enemies, but they die in one hit).
Obviously, there's more features as the trilogy went on, so if you like minigames, you'd probably like Spyro 2 or Year of the Dragon more than the first game.

(just try to get the Greatest Hits version of Year of the Dragon, because there's a bug that prevents you from getting speedway eggs if you're not careful on the original release/PSN versions)

Basically if you like platforming games, then in my opinion, the first three Spyro games are still the best platforming games around, the worlds are very unique, and make you wonder what the next world will be like, and the bosses are very strange too. There are a lot of colourful characters that should make the experience more interesting, and the cutscenes can be quite funny or just plain out random. In Spyro 1 you cannot swim but that shouldn't bother you because you can't swim in the Legend of Spyro, you cannot climb, or headbash, or even hover, you may get a couple of special upgrades but that's it whereas in Spyro 2 and 3, you can do all these things and obtain more special ablities, like to breath superflame, to do a high jump, to supercharge for longer, etc.

You may find you like LoS better though, because you must be into all the combat type of games and deep story, so in the end you may not like it as much, but it's worth a try, these games were just done for pure fun, not for any type of seriousness.

I don't like seriousness much, but I like combat. But I probably will enjoy Originals 'cause of the fun-loving setting and humor, and game-play.

I literally sold most of my games just to get a PSP and to buy the original games. e.e

... IT WAS TOTALLY WORTH IT. 8D

( For me, of course. The classics were part of my childhood. <3 )

I probably don't find it that funny because I don't know what song it is from.

99 Problems, it's been covered by so many people, I'm not even sure who originally wrote it.

Yes. Buy the classics. After all, they are the first Spyro games!
But they might be a little hard to find. They're quite rare now.
