If you really think about it I feel sorry for DM...He got exiled from his only home and had to make a family out of a stinky group of baboons. Do you ever think that there is a darker dragon that poisened DM into being evil? Like if he didn't have a choice?

Definition 1 is most likely applicable to the circumstances described prior to your statement.

I have always felt that the DM is not the primary evil behind the events in TLoS, if he truly is evil at all.

Well, I feel a little sorry for the person he once was, until he turned evil and put poor Cynder under his control.

I don't feel sorry for the DM at all and I think he's the greatest evil alive in his world. Not that he thinks he is; I always imagined that he thinks he's doing everyone a favor by re-shaping the world to suit dragon kind, but he will go to any lengths to get what he wants, which is a terrible thing.

Personally, I feel a lot more sorry for the apes since they're his pawns in all of this.

hey! i think i dwell! i REALLY EXTREMELY GET REALLY scared of growing up and getting old and.. well you know! dont say that word. it scares me! last night i was crying a LOT cause i was SCARED! happens to me every night! im still scared from last night. i know it will take a LONG time! but i get SO scared and sad and upset about it. my mom helps me feel better and my dad gave me a blessing.

So do a lot of human beings. The apes (and the dragons) represent human beings; all animals in any story told by people represent those people. If they were just monkeys, all they'd do is scream and throw poo, they wouldn't talk, use dynamite, or build fortresses.

As I've said elsewhere, I find the idea that a creature is evil just because of his race to be deplorable. I don't think all the apes are bad, or, if they are, there is a sinister reason behind it. I postulate that said sinister reason is the Dark Master himself. Gaul said the apes were seeking revenge; one does not seek revenge unless an injustice has already been done to him. The dragons are not as perfect as they would seem.

Also, the apes were after Spyro because a) he is a purple dragon and is a threat to their goals, b) he is a dragon and, thus, an enemy, and c) Cynder, Gaul and the Dark Master want/ed Spyro dead and these were their best weapons.

Honestly, your idea was a bit ignorant, Dragonfriend243. The Chronicler told Spyro that the Dark Master mastered many elements that were thought to be impossible. The other dragons banished him, and after that, the Dark Master formed his army, seeking revenge.

The Dark Master brought this upon himself.

Basically he was banished because of how powerful he had become, just because it made the other dragons feel wimpy. He was never evil from the start and he may not even be evil now, just yearning for the justice that he deserves but has been denied.

That is not what we have been told. For what we have been made to know is they were impressed with his power, but then something happend that the Chronicler put as "he consumed everything". That may not be literal, but it would seem he did bring it upon himself.

That is edsactly what I think! All the time! I always thing maybe its the same evil that turned Spyro into Dark Spyro at the end of TEN? Think about it, on the DOTD page of this website all it says is that Spyro faces Malefor, it doesn't say that Malefor is the main boss...

Ah-ha, I do believe that someone with much greater powers possesed Malefore soo much, that he fell into darkness. then later wanting to posses everyone else to be less tormented. Someone under the name of power, grave destruction, and darkness. We'll have to see in the future why malefor lost control of his power. Also why he was given tooo much power.

oh and i also forgot i think the apes are the evil ones and hate the dragons since there power is the most strongest out of all the creature, well that is what i think. lol
