Chapter 1
~Spyro~
The Dark Master lashed his talons out at two young dragons, but the purple one dodged out of the way. The black dragon was struck in the face, leaving three deep gashes on her cheek and near her eye. She fell to the floor of the evil dragon’s lair. “Cynder! Malefor’s hurt you!” the purple dragon cried out. Cynder lay on the ground, and looked up at the purple dragon with pleading, emerald eyes. But it was too late. The dark master came down hard on her with his tail, sending her flying into a column. The purple dragon had enough of this. “Coward! I thought you wanted to eliminate me!” the purple dragon screamed. “Well Spyro, by all means I will.” Malefor chuckled, sending a glowing fireball from his gaping jaws. Spyro hardly dodged it; the fire burned part of his wing membranes. He got on his hind talons and launched up at Malefor and scratched him on his side, and used his tail to slice the right wing of Malefor, leaving a huge gash that went all the way through. Malefor roared in agony and grasped Spyro within his jaws, by the back. He flung him onto the floor, where he lay moaning. The dark dragon raised a taloned paw to strike him. Cynder rose up shakily and managed to cough up a piece of poison at Malefor, catching him in the eye. He was crying and staring at his right wing, crying from the poison hurting his eyes. Blood streamed down from his wing onto his back. Spyro got to his feet and launched into the air and flew around Malefor, inflicting small wounds on his wings. He barreled to the left and swooped under the evil dragon’s left wing, his back facing the ground. He used his back paws to shred Malefor’s wing, leaving several holes and gashes. Cynder and Spyro both rose to the air, flying around him. Spyro shot small icicles and Cynder sent out Shadow Claws to distract Malefor. The Shadow Claws hit Malefor in the face and caused a cloud of darkness around his head. He shook his head and rose into the air, beating his wings fast, but the holes in his wings would not allow him to rise up. He roared out in anger and lashed out at the two dragons, missing horribly, blinded in one eye by the poison. He managed to hit Spyro in the chest and it bled badly. Malefor’s claws were stained with Spyro’s blood. Cynder flew to the ground using a Shadow Cloak to get down a little stealthily. The evil dragon’s vision was now poor so she easily got to the ground in front of him. She jumped up from the ground, swung her head back, and used her horns to hit Malefor in the chest. They were longer and thinner than Spyro’s and caused thin, deep gashes which hurt horribly. Her shape was thinner and she could easily dodge attacks. Seeing the opportunity when the evil dragon landed, Spyro shot icicles to make Malefor’s wings frozen and heavy. However it did numb the pain and Malefor was less blinded with fury. But he could not get into the air. Malefor launched out a fury attack, sending Spyro and Cynder flying into the remaining wall. The Dark Master created a shield of Fury and prepared to face the two smaller dragons, turning around to look straight at them. He was still on the ground due to his frozen wings. Spyro and Cynder hit the shield only to be blasted with fury breath. Cynder looked weak, and she looked at Spyro with scared eyes. We can’t go on! We’ll never make it, Malefor is just too strong. She thought. Spyro’s scales turned black and his eyes glowed white and he stared at Cynder. He threw her aside and blasted a beam of purple-white power straight at Malefor. The shield collapsed and Malefor stared in fear. He was terrified. For a second Spyro stared, watching what he was about to do. His scales turned purple again and his eyes returned to their normal state.
Malefor seized the opportunity to shoot a boulder at Spyro and he crashed to the floor. Cynder blasted out into Fury state and she shot black-white-pink beams at Malefor, angrily. Her armor was dented and she looked exhausted before, now she looked like she was fueled with anger, hate, and revenge. Spyro rose up slowly and coughed out small purple clouds. He couldn’t use fury. He tried and tried and it wouldn’t work. He realized a piece of rock was in his chest, piercing close to his heart. He pulled it out, and screamed in shock, pain, and horror. It was covered with blood and Spyro felt truly terrified. But he unleashed fury and shot out at the evil creature trying to bathe the world in destruction and chaos. He shot purple-white beams and together they overcame the hideous beast. He fell off the platform where his lair rested, roaring as he fell down. Spyro and Cynder dove after him. They inflicted wounds open him again and again. Spyro blasted out fire and covered Malefor in flames and fire. They met on the ground, and Spyro and Cynder huddled together. A purple light came from between them, first small, then huge and dramatic. It blasted Malefor and made him collapse on the rocky plateau. They dashed over to him. “You… I would never think anyone could have… forgive me… I made a stupid mistake… what was I thinking… y-you see I practiced dark elements long ago, from an unknown mentor… he ruined me… the first purple dragon ever on the Earth ruined… but now that you-you’ve truly defeated me, I-I see what I did, and I’m horrified. Please, restore the dragons! Do it, in memory of me… Spyro… take this…” He took out a neck piece of armor which was darkly colored and seemed to be filled with dark energy. Cynder whacked it from Malefor’s claws. “HOW DARE YOU! This is the neck piece you gave me… with the crystal!” She pointed to the pink crystal on the neck piece which was what she had worn to try and awake the Dark Master when she was controlled by his armies. “T-thank you, C-Cynder, th-there will never be an evil purple dragon a-again… Th-the darkness is st-still inside of me.. Thank you for stopping it.” He took a final breath and died in front of them. Spyro and Cynder stared in shock, almost regretting what they had done. “He would’ve destroyed the world, Spyro. We had to do it, otherwise those dark energies would’ve continued to take him over,” Said Cynder, almost reassuring herself. Spyro nodded in somber agreement. “Now, get rid of that neck piece. It will make you more powerful than your wildest dreams, but it will destroy you,” Cynder said sharply. Spyro took it into his claws but tucked it under his armor, rising up into the air. Cynder led the way back to the Temple, which seemed… missing something, without Ignitus. Spyro had just remembered on his way back that his mentor was dead, and a few tears rolled down his cheek. They landed on the entrance to it and the gardens seemed more restored. They hadn’t been here in years. The walls were polished, any cobwebs removed. The floor seemed more reflective than a crystal clear pool. “It’s beautiful,” gasped Cynder. Spyro nodded. Three child dragons bounced about on the floor, and squealed seeing the dragons. They were horrified by their wounds and ran to their mothers. Their mothers told them about the two dragons and their legends, then smiled warmly at the heroes. “Y-you’re S-s-spy-spyro and C-C-Cy-Cynder?” They gasped. The heroes nodded and said modestly,” We couldn’t have done it without the help of the other dragons, and the wonderful armor our blacksmiths made-” A yellow dragon made his entrance. “That was a fabulous, wondrous, exquisite, display of pure experience and wondrous training in fine arts and it would not have been able to succeed without energetic bursts of electric bolts found in lightning and most electricity.” The dragon said rather fastly. “Hello, Volteer!” Cynder said, smiling. Sparx flew in from the window, and gasped. “SPYRO!” He wrapped his arms around Spyro’s horn. “Where on Earth have you been?” Spyro and Cynder told their tale of how they had defeated the Dark Master. Sparx looked rather disappointed. “You used Fury? Isn’t that cheating? You didn’t use your claws, or fists?”

Chapter 1
(continued) Chapter 1 ~Spyro~ Sparx zipped around the room waving his fists around. “Well, err… no, I wouldn’t think so? It’s an element we can use…” Spyro said, a little worried if he had broken the rules of honor. “You fought well. I have been listening the entire time.” Terrador said, walking into the room. His tail idly destroyed some old vase. “Now, you must hurry over to our healer. She will fix up your wounds.” “We have a healer now?” Spyro said, confused. Terrador chuckled,” You’ve been gone awhile, and years is some time. Dragon have moved into the temple, Spyro.” The two exhausted dragons walked over through several halls, and walked into the healer’s rooms with directions from Terrador. She was a beautiful white dragon, with golden horns, claws, and eyes. She gestured to several rock slabs which had white silk blankets They climbed up onto one, each having a separate laying bed. The white dragon had robes of very, very light teal. She gracefully walked over to a basket of red crystals in the corner, and picked up one in her claws. She put it on Spyro, and it went through him. An explosion of red light came from him and his wounds stopped bleeding. She went over to lift his armor, and Spyro realized she was about to reveal the neck piece. “No!!” He yelled. She stepped back, a little scared. “I-I’m sorry, just please don’t remove the armor.” Spyro said quietly. She nodded and went to the visible wounds. A small cloud of white came from her thin jaws. Her jaws were slightly curved and beaked like Cynder’s, but were more rounded at the end. The cloud numbed the pain and healed it up, making sure the wounds wouldn’t get infected. She did the same for Cynder. Spyro immediately got up once healed. The Healer stepped over to Spyro. “No, I really should be going. Thanks for your help.” Spyro said quickly. He didn’t even walk through the halls. He flew. Spyro was beating his red wings fast and he got to the balcony room, that was open, where he stayed. There was no roof and there was a design symbolizing the four elements on the floor. Moss was around the walls and fence, and mushrooms. A vase or two was embedded in the moss, as well as a couple of shattered helmets. Spyro realized his room was left untouched, the temple workers must’ve been too scared to enter, for fear they would’ve messed something up ‘the great purple dragon’ wanted in his room. It didn’t bother him. He did see, however, in the middle of the room there was a large maroon colored cushion. It had a purple silk blanket on it, and he decided that was supposed to be used to sleep. What else could it be for? He was used to rougher, less comfortable conditions though. Throughout the night, Spyro’s claws tore up the cushion. Feathers were everywhere, and when he sneezed he torched the blanket to cinders. The two female moles that walked in to check on him squealed when they saw him standing next to the smoke, flames, and feathers. They ran away immediately, hoping they wouldn’t be included in the destruction. Spyro chuckled and sprayed ice to put out the flames, then melted the ice with flames, which didn’t spread. The room was covered with water and feathers, though.

Chapter 1
(continued) It was near dawn and Spyro was laying on the floor. He got rid of the feathers by throwing them into the lake, which the balcony was overlooking. He saw a table in the corner, and there was a green crystal shard, a wooden bowl of water, and a wooden plate with dried beef. Spyro saw that it was nicely salted, but it was small, at least for a dragon. He snapped it up in hardly two bites, and drank the water. He didn’t need the green crystal so he left it on the table. Spyro saw that there was now a stone shelf by the staircase to the door, and he saw a sword and a bracer on it, so he left his broken armor there. I can’t leave the neck piece here… Spyro thought, so he tucked it under the moss nearest to the water, by the balcony fencing. He plucked a mushroom out of the ground and quickly placed it over the moss. He paced around the room, bored. Should I wait till daylight to enter the temple? The other dragons may be asleep. He knew Cynder wasn’t asleep; they were used to waking up early to travel. So he picked up the green crystal, careful not to absorb it; at this level of mastery in the elements he did not need it, the breath came freely to his jaws. He tiptoed across the halls, careful to walk past Terrador on the lightest feet. Terrador was the most alert of the guardians. Cyril was snoring loudly, talking in his sleep about Ice’s superior strength. Soon he got into the main hall, which had doors leading to all the other dragon’s rooms. Mostly moles lived at Warfang and the dragons preferred to stay here. Each house for the Temple had more than one room, there was plenty of living space. The door to Cynder’s home was at the end of the hall and it was made of three rooms, one for a storage area, one for sleeping. The other was an entertainment room. Spyro entered the first room which was the entertainment area. Four medium sized cushions served as the seating around a neatly cut stone table, with a pink gem in the middle, which was non-absorbable. It was a centerpiece. In the entertainment room was a dining room to the left side. This is like a freaking Warfang home. Here we don’t really need as much… Cynder is obsessed with plenty of rooms. Most dragons have a floor and a bed for their bedroom, and a room with a pool, and a storage room where everything is laid around in piles. Spyro pulled out a piece of meat from the basket on the dining room, and ate it quickly. He was still starving. The dining room had cushioned stone chairs with no backrest; they were dragons, they basically perched on their seats. The centerpiece was a pink flower in a crystal vase. It was only the second time Spyro had been in Cynder’s home, the first was when she went missing all those years ago…

Chapter 1
(continued) Spyro walked into Cynder’s room. She was sitting on the cushion in the middle of the room, which was a bright electric pink. She was wearing a silky black blanket and staring out the window. “Hi, Spyro,” She said without looking at him. The window had no glass, and the walls were bare stone. “Good morning, Cynder,” Spyro replied. “… There’s no evil left now, is there?” Cynder said. “No, not unless some crazy dragons went bad and destroyed the place. That most likely won’t happen, though.” Spyro said. “But… what if that did happen? I mean, what are we doing here, Spyro? Now that all the evil is gone we’re just legendary heroes with people following us around. What are we going to do?” Cynder asked. “Well, we’ll mentor the other dragons in our element. I’m sure the guardians could use a hand. And what if one dragon had your element? Wouldn’t you like an apprentice?” Spyro asked. “I… guess so.” Cynder said quietly. Spyro decided to go check on the five young apprentices. The dragons which had hatched while he was gone were now old enough to be trained. “Well! Who is DARING ENOUGH TO BE TRAINED IN THE FINE ELEMENTS?” He roared. The apprentices shrunk back. … this is fun. I shouldn’t scare them, though. “I’m just kidding around. Ok, so you’re a fire dragon, right?” He pointed a claw to a red dragon with orange features. “Y-yes!” She squealed. “Ok, that is my best element. So you ice dragon, earth, and electric go to the other guardians. Terrador is Earth, Cyril is Ice, And Volteer is Electric. Go to them, they will mentor you. And you, young fire dragon!” he looked at the smallest orange dragon with yellow features-come with me.” He led the two fire dragons to the very room where he was trained. The enormous statue of the dragon with three eggs by his claws went into the ground and stone flooring replaced it. This room had the same design as at Spyro’s room on the floor. The two dragons were sisters, and they were huddled close together. “Don’t be afraid!” He chuckled. I really do hope I didn’t scare them. I thought that was a good chance to have fun… “Well, I think we should test your ability to puff fire. It’s ok if it’s not a large blast, we just need to make sure you can breathe fire with ease.” Spyro made sure a basket of green crystals was in the corner by the door. “Well, I’ll send out the first target.” A straw dummy came out with a wooden frame with hay and a sack over it for the ‘body’. It was supposed to be an ape, and it looked a little bit like one also. “Well, torch it!” Spyro said to the bigger of the two. She ran up, visibly excited. She coughed and a small cloud of fire, about a foot in length, and burned the sack, and part of the hay. It exploded and disappeared. “Well done!” Spyro praised his apprentice. “T-thank you!” She replied happily. “No need to be thankful, you did well. What is your name?”

Chapter 1
(continued) He asked. “Incinera,” she said. “And you?” Spyro asked the smaller dragon. “R-Ru-Ruby,” She replied anxiously. “Don’t be so scared. It happened to me that I didn’t do well a bunch of times,” Spyro said. A new dummy appeared. “Ok, take a go at this one.” Ruby slowly walked up to it, and when she arrived to it, she coughed. Not even smoke came from her mouth. She shrunk back, and got as small as possible. “Don’t worry. It’s good to be calm. Just clear your mind of all your thoughts except for concentrating on the task.” Spyro commented. Ruby tried her best, and a few sparks came from her mouth. “Great! Keep it up!” The sparks turned to sparks and smoke from her mouth, which turned into a cone of fire, which turned into a full blast, torching the entire dummy. It exploded. Ruby looked shocked and ran back to Spyro. “That.. Was your first try?” Spyro asked. Ruby nodded with huge eyes. “Well… I’m impressed. It wasn’t a master blast, but that was… well done.. My first flame was when I was actually attacked… You did well, both of you. Now, just claw these dummies. Use your horns, and a good move is to fling them into the air with your horns and claw them with your talons,” Spyro said as four dummies came into view. They finished them and Spyro went back to his room, where food was waiting. On the table was a red crystal shard and a platter. The platter had a large piece of salted meat. It wasn’t much bigger than the one in the morning though. Spyro was wearing the neck piece under his usual one. When he looked in the mirror by the shelf, his scales were a little darker, his wings were a deep red, his claws were enormous, his horns, seemed sharper than ever. His jaws looked scaly but, his teeth looked bright white and sharp. “What is this..?” He wondered to himself. He walked over to the table and snapped up the meat. There wasn’t any water this time and he was thirsty after flaming with his apprentices. Deciding that he did need water, he walked out to the entrance where the moles were. “Is anything wrong, Master Spyro?” One asked. “Please, don’t call me master. I’m just a regular person like every one of you. I actually came out to get some water because there wasn’t any with the food, not a problem however, I assure you,” Spyro said. “Nonsense! We will make sure water is sent with your food tomorrow.” “It really isn’t a problem-” Spyro said but was cut off as more dragons flew in. He went to the lake to get a drink, and caught a few fish. As he was finishing eating them, he saw several wild boar off to the west of the lake, to the east was the balcony. “Hmm, the hunters might like to know about that. I can catch a few later,” Spyro said to himself, and he went to his room and quickly fell asleep on the hard, stone floor.

Chapter 2
~Cynder~ Cynder was alone in her quarters. She sat at the dining table and delicately nibbled at the meat. But she was too bored to do much. Today she was getting an apprentice. Cynder opened the door and flew out into the door, to the training room. There a black dragon with red wings and teal blue claws, horns, and tail piece was sitting there. Her eyes were magenta. She looked at Cynder with sharp, precise eyes which seemed to capture everything and examine it. “Hello there, what is your name?” Cynder asked. “I’m Phantom,” Said the young dragon as she walked over to Cynder. “Well, you’re a fear dragon, aren’t you?” Cynder asked. Phantom nodded. “Good, good, I rather like that element. Casting enemies off into fear is surely satisfying sometimes. However, my strongest element is Shadow. But I do like fear very much. Today I’ll just show you Siren Scream. It’s a yowl that can be heard for miles and will make everyone flinch, even your allies. Enemies will be driven mad as panic consumes them.” Together the two blasted siren screams at dummies, and Cynder was rather pleased with the results. “Well done indeed. You are a fine fear dragon!” Cynder approved cheerfully. Phantom had made several Siren Screams, although not as large as Cynder’s, they were the beginning size and destroyed the dummies. Cynder didn’t aim at the dummies, really just so Phantom could see a demonstration. “Thank you, Cynder!” Phantom said happily. “It is no problem. You did exactly what we wanted here and more. If there ever is an ambush, fear is key. We need to terrify and panic the enemy so we can easily swoop down and attack with claws, teeth, and the other dragons will help with their elements. Well done indeed, Phantom!” Cynder said. Phantom and her mentor walked down the hall into the pool room where the three guardians would be. It was crystal clear but had a cyan blue coloring. “I see a male red dragon of which I’ve not seen before,” Terrador said. “What being of the world known as a dragon is this vision’s focus?” Volteer asked. “Which dragon is it?” Cyril echoed, more clearly. “I don’t know but he’s entering the temple. He might be one of the candidates for the Fire Guardian.” Cynder was worried. Poor Spyro! she thought miserably. “Phantom, go home. You’ve done your training for today,” Cynder said, and Phantom walked down the hall to where her family lived. All the moles had returned to Warfang as they saw no need to continue guarding the Temple. “Oh no… Spyro will be furious…” Cynder said to herself. She came upon the entrance to where Spyro’s room was and entered. “Hi, Cynder!” He said cheerfully, standing and looking straight at her. “What’s wrong?” He asked, worried to see Cynder’s anxious expression. “Err, umm…,” Cynder started. “No really, what happened?” Spyro asked. “Well, err, there is a candidate for the Fire Guardian, we don’t know his name yet… but he was seen in the Pool of Visions, and they think he is the new guardian because he was seen with all the other three on the steps to the entrance of the Temple and dragons in the front area were cheering him on…,” Cynder said. “WHAT? I thought Ignitus’s role was being left OPEN so that he would be honored. Without him we would have never defeated Malefor!” Spyro roared. “But, Spyro…, to honor Ignitus is to continue his role, to make his element stronger. To train young fire dragons in it. Please, you might regret this…,” Cynder pleaded. “No! You don’t understand. He was my mentor. He will be honored in leaving the role open. His memory and legend lives on!” Spyro declared angrily.

Chapter 2
(continued) A bird flew in from the balcony and dropped a scroll. Spyro picked up the scroll and spread it out on the ground with his claws. The bird watched from the balcony fencing, pleased to see that his hard work was being read. Dear Spyro, It is a pleasure to finally come to the Temple. I have considered this, and went to the Counsel of Dragons at Warfang to discuss it. I’m running to be the Fire Guardian. Please alert the dragons at the Temple of this, and I will be arriving shortly. The Temple must be amazing. I look forward to teaching young dragons in this fantastic element. Soon all those lovely young fire dragons will be flaming without a problem. So, I would like to know, do the dragons have a large defense? Or is there few dragons at the Temple? I know the squad of moles had left the Temple earlier, and now there is only dragon [s] . Tell me, is there many fire dragons? Or is there none? I hope to get your reply soon. I’m on the way from Warfang to the Temple. It will be a few day’s travel at the most. Sincerely, Pyron Spyro read the letter aloud. And he felt he should reply, even if he didn’t like the idea. “I am the purple dragon! I want the Temple to have NO fire guardian. This is final! I’m writing him now.” Spyro picked up a parchment scroll and a quill, dipping it in a bottle of ink which he spilled on the floor by knocking it over with his tail, accidentally. Dear Pyron, I’m glad to hear you are so interested in the position. However I don’t think you’ll be able to run for the position. There is two young fire dragons, and there is a small amount of dragons at the temple. About ten. But I’m training the young fire dragons, the way IGNITUS taught me. So, I think you might want to go back to Warfang. I’m sorry this couldn’t work out. Spyro Spyro dropped it off to the bird, who cheerfully took it and flew back. “I do not want this Pyron dragon to take the position. Cynder, I’ll be back in a second.” With that, Spyro went off to the halls. Cynder went back to her home where she finished her food. Bored, she played with the crystal centerpiece in the entertainment room. She then flew around the room and out the window, where she dove down to the lake, and stopped to go forward, hardly skimming the water with the tips of her wings.

Chapter 3
~Spyro~ Spyro furiously went to the guardians, his tail whacking the walls and leaving deep marks in them. “What is the matter, Spyro?” asked Terrador. “You LET a fire dragon come?! To take Ignitus’s position?” Spyro yelled. “It can’t be left empty forever, Spyro.” Terrador said. “I don’t CARE! I’m the purple dragon, and I want to make sure my mentor is honored. Do you disrespect me? Do not argue. I’ve already sent Pyron back. I have had enough of people telling me what I’m supposed to do. I’m a legend. A powerful DRAGON. A PURPLE DRAGON. Do NOT ARGUE!” Spyro roared. The guardians nodded slowly and warily. With that said, Spyro went to the front of the Temple, outside. The bird flew back, his white feathers almost glowing. He dropped a scroll in front of Spyro and waited on the branch to watch him read. Dear Spyro, I don’t believe you understand. The counsel of dragons has decided. I will be the new Fire Guardian, the votes were positive for me. Thank you for replying and answering my questions. I will be arriving in less than a day. Sincerely, Pyron Angrily, Spyro picked up his quill. Dear Pyron, YOU Don’t understand. I AM the purple dragon, who makes the decisions around here. Did YOU kill Malefor? Did YOU kill Gaul? Did YOU defeat Cynder? Did YOU restore balance? I’m telling you, go back NOW. This is your FINAL warning. If you arrive here there will be a problem. Spyro Spyro rolled up his letter with his nose, picked it up in his teeth, and dropped it in front of the bird who carried it off. “… I hope he arrives. I will enjoy sinking my teeth into his back!” Spyro said, grinning evilly. He was only wearing the neck piece. Feeling powerful and full of energy, he went back to the lake. He looked larger and more powerful than ever, almost as big as Terrador. He was almost a young adult dragon now, his scales were dark purple, his wings deep red, his eyes yellow with slits of a pupil, he walked over to where Pyron was to arrive. Within an hour Pyron was walking with an escort of five moles. They snickered and joked about how savage temple dragons were. Spyro growled and puffed smoke at them, and they chuckled,” He can’t even talk!” Spyro was angry now, he roared in front of their faces, and they ran. But Spyro wasn’t finished with them, he saw a mole trying frantically to get away on a small horse. He slapped the mole off with his tail and growled at him. But before he could do any real damage Pyron spoke,” Are you quite done?” “You!” Spyro snarled. “I told you not to come here. Did I not? I’m done with you. DONE, now get out before I have to force you out!” Spyro roared. “I have caused you no offense, Spyro. Why are you so upset?” Pyron said carefully. “No offense? NO OFFENSE?” Spyro growled loudly. He lunged onto Pyron and bit deep into the red dragon’s scales, tearing them off. His tail dug into Pyron’s wings and Spyro climbed up to Pyron’s head, digging his claws near his eyes. Spyro and Pyron were about the same size. Cynder was still flying by the lake when she saw this. She flew straight toward the scene. “Spyro!” She cried as he dug his claws deeper into Pyron’s face. Pyron was no match. “I TOLD YOU NOT TO COME HERE!” Spyro bellowed. He sucked in air, and exhaled forcefully, bathing the dragon in bright flames. Pyron had no choice but to flee, and Spyro flung the moles away with his claws when they tried to stop him. Spyro flew into the air, because he knew his aerial skills were superior to Pyron’s. He swooped on Pyron, inflicting a wound again and again, whether it was with his tail, claws, horns, or breathing a different element. He rotated through the elements. Like a cat playing with a mouse, I’ll make this dragon suffer before he dies, Spyro thought. But before he could deliver the killing blow, Pyron tried to rip off Spyro’s neck piece, to get a clearer blow at Spyro’s neck. “MINE!” Spyro hissed, clutching the neck piece. “It’s… mine!” Spyro hissed again, and jumped on Pyron and almost tore his wing off, his tail sending moles in all directions. “Spyro… what are you doing?” Cynder cried, tears streaming down her cheeks. While Spyro was biting and clawing with no rules of honor at Pyron, Cynder managed to take the neck piece off, and Spyro stopped almost immediately. “… Why did you take it, Cynder? It’s mine, give it back!” His scales had not returned to their normal state and he was still looking slightly like Malefor. “I can’t, Spyro!” Cynder said, afraid. Spyro launched onto her and tore the neck piece from her claws. He felt better almost immediately. But the next time he breathed fire on Pyron, it was almost darker, like shadow fire, but not quite. Pyron flew into the air and escaped while Spyro was distracted by moles on his back. He hadn’t killed anyone, yet. Pyron, I told you NOT to come and I see that you have learned your lesson to be respectful. If you come anywhere near MY citizens again I will dispatch of you straight away. I hope your wounds last… -Spyro “Spyro, what have you done?” Cynder cried. “You tried to take my power! You want it for yourself! YOU WANT MY POSITION! MY HONOR!” Spyro roared. “No, Spyro, I love you!” Cynder screamed. “Of course you say that now, you want me to trust you… I remember what you did all those years ago. YOU ALMOST KILLED ME!” Spyro bellowed. “I… I didn’t… know… mean to…” Cynder started but Spyro angrily yelled back,” So, you didn’t mean to try to kill me. I get it now… you did it, you didn’t try to try to kill me, of course you didn’t. I’m done with you, Cynder. Don’t try to change how I feel. Go, now,” Spyro said. “But… Spyro!” Cynder cried. “GO NOW!” He yelled in an ear-splitting roar.

Chapter 3
(continued) Should I have said that to her? Spyro thought to himself, deep inside. NO! The crystal makes you more powerful.. you can do whatever you want... command anyone you want...The power you've always wanted... needed.. the power you deserve.... "WHO SAID THAT?!" Spyro snapped. I will conceal myself... for now... Spyro shook his head. That voice... it kept whispering in his mind... "SHUT UP!" Spyro roared. It didn't. It stopped after a while, though. He took off and flew over the trees, and landed heavily in a clearing with a stream running through it on the left side, and was next to a wall of rocks. A herd of elk was in the clearing farther ahead, and Spyro ran to it, knocking over trees. He whipped an elk with his tail, breaking its back. He lashed out at another with his claws, killing it with a fatal neck blow. The rest he killed by biting. He picked up two in his front paws and flew back to the Temple, watching lush hills go by and bright, leafy trees past him. When he returned he dropped the two elks in the main room. He forgot about the other 5 in the forest. All the dragons came out and shared the food with each other. Spyro was pleased to see his citizens happy, and fed. Cynder did not come out, however. When everyone finished eating, Spyro went to the room where the guardians were. They didn't say anything and looked away, except for Terrador, who eyed him with a look that meant he was unhappy with him, and dissapointed. "WHAT?" Spyro roared. "Nothing... " Terrador replied. He wasn't going to tell Spyro that the reason Malefor became evil was that he was driven mad with power........... Spyro splashed the water from the Pool of Visions with his tail. "SPYRO!" They all cried out as the water was drained. "WHAT? STOP LOOKING AT ME!! IGNITUS MUST BE HONORED, IF YOU DON'T HONOR HIM YOU DON'T BELONG HERE!" Spyro bellowed. He left the room angrily. After he had gone, Cyril said "Oh God... now... we'll never be able to use the Pool again... this will be a major disadvantage in the future..." Cyril muttered to the others, who agreed quietly. Spyro walked off and trained his apprentices more forcefully, being more stern and strict. Cynder trained her apprentice quietly, and a little bit sadly. Phantom wondered what was wrong. When training was over Cynder went back to her quarters and Spyro went into the forest. As he stepped on the lush, dark green grass he saw a squad of about 25 grublins walking in search of their master. When they came upon Spyro, who had dark scales like Malefor but not the same horns, they cried," MASTER!" Spyro was a little surprised by this but used it to his advantage. "What would you like us to do, Master?" They said. "Patrol the Temple perimeter. Dragons are good now, grublins. Make sure that you don't see a red dragon named Pyron, if you do, alert me immediately. I will be basking in the sun by the lake." "Of course, Master!" The grublins cried and ran off to do the task, swords, axes, and clubs in hand.

Chapter 4
Spyro was basking in the sun as he took off his neck piece, so those scales could absorb sun. After 20minutes everything about him was back to when he fought Malefor, his scales, his wings, everything except for his size. After ten minutes the grublins came back. "Sir, everything has been scouted, the borders. But there is a griffon on the edge of the territory who has made a den," They reported. "An animal on the far reaches of my territory is not worth a response. Leave the beast alone," Spyro replied. Before, he would've went to kill the beast himself, if he was wearing the crystal neck armor. "Now, go, do whatever you do," Spyro told them, and they left. Yawning, he went to see Cynder... then remembered what he had told her. He quickly ran to her room. "Cynder..." He started, but she wouldn't say anything to him, just stare out the window. "Cynder... I'm sorry..." he said again. "No no no, I'm sorry." She said sharply. "I only tried to stop you from murdering an innocent dragon," She growled. Spyro was wearing the neck piece again, and the effects of it started to set in. "INNOCENT? How do you know he was innocent?!" Spyro cried. "I-I don't, but you just can't kill people you don't know..." she stammered. "Did YOU know Malefor? Did you know all those grublins you murdered? I didn't, and you fought alongside me anyway!" Spyro yelled. "Spyro they're not dragons! They're evil beasts, we know are going to attack us!" She yelled back. "Malefor wasn't an evil beast, he was a purple dragon just like me. Are you saying I'M an evil beast?" Spyro said cleverly. "Well... no... but..." She said... "And you attacked him. We both did. So hit me. Attack me," Spyro challenged. "What? No... Spyro. I won't!" Cynder said, shocked. "Hit me! Are you afraid?" Spyro roared. "No.. I love you, Spyro. I really do." Cynder said. Spyro growled and raised his tail to slam down on her back, and break her spine when Cynder rushed forward and placed a claw on his crystal. She started to pull it off gently when Spyro flipped around, sending her flying out the window. She screamed until she hit the water with a splash. The neck armor went with her. "Cynder?" Spyro said, realizing what he'd done. He dove in after her, trying to save her. She was underwater and with bad wounds, and she wasn't able to swim because of them. Spyro pulled her out, and she had the armor in her claws. "Cynder?" Spyro said softly. "G-get away from m-me, Spyro..." Cynder coughed. "No, I love you." Spyro stated. "Of course you do. You threw me out the window." Cynder cried. "I-I didn't mean to.." Spyro said. They hugged each other. "But I still want that Pyron dude to come. What am I gonna do? He'll be back shortly, I know it," He said. "Well, tell him, I'm sure after that beating he won't argue..." Cynder said softly. "Ok, I will, go inside." Spyro said. "And, good riddance to this!" Spyro laughed, taking the neck armor in his claws, and throwing it into the water. "Good night, Spyro," Cynder said and went inside. Once she was out of sight, Spyro trotted over to the armor, and picked it up. He placed it on and grinned...

Chapter 5
Feeling better already, Spyro went to the griffon's den but it wasn't there. Tired, he decided to spend the night in the cave. If the griffon came back, surely he would be able to kill it with one bite. But, only two moles came. "Tell me, is there a griffon near by?" Spyro said. The moles looked surprised that a dragon would live in a cave. They truly are savage! the moles thought. "Err, we aren't allowed to talk about that information..." The moles said. Knowing this group of moles (he knew by their armor) had legends about savage dragons eating anything in their path, Spyro smiled, bearing his sharp teeth. Not wanting to be eaten, they gave away all of their information. "That was easy, wasn't it? Go back to your... wherever," Spyro told them, and they hurried off. This clan of moles didn't like dragons very much and preffered to keep to themselves. "They were the same moles that escorted Pyron here. But why did they do that... if they didn't like dragons?" Spyro muttered. Those moles didn't live in Warfang; they had their own village. The grublins returned to the den, and they now knew that Spyro wasn't Malefor, he was Spyro! They had been tricked! "You are not Master!" They cried out and charged. The axes hardly had an impact on Spyro's chest, and he flicked two off with his paw. The other four that were on his right side, he roared in their faces, and they attacked his leg all the same. Angry, he picked two up in his mouth and threw them into a tree. Then he bit the other two and killed them. Swiping his tail, he hit ten more grublins, and they went flying into a tree. Some were still alive and they charged at him. Spyro killed all but one of them. The one left still attacked him, which felt like a poke. Spyro lowered his head and grinned in the grublin's face. The grublin was still attacking, and Spyro felt that he wasn't scary anymore. Gee, those things are ANNOYING. My self esteem isn't very high Spyro thought. With that, he opened his mouth in front of the grublin and closed it around him. Then he threw the creature away into the lake. Maybe next time I'll just blow fire all over them. ^.^ they won't be so annoying then. After that, Spyro went to sleep. Pyron was the griffon. You would've never guessed. Pyron had taken training for three years in the art of transformation. He snuck into the Temple. He knew that the young dragons needed green crystals to breathe fire, and more mastered, finished with training dragons didn't. But they could still absorb the crystals if they wanted. So Pyron snuck into every corner of the hall, and every house. In each home that had a young dragon in it, there was a basket of green crystals. In some corners of the halls there were crystals growing. Pyron broke, absorbed, and misused every green crystal there was. It was abusing the use of crystals if one didn't need it, but Pyron didn't care. I will avenge Malefor! If I couldn't get in as a Fire Guardian, I'll get in as athief! Pyron thought. After taking the green magic crystals, he went back to the den where he was staying. Spyro was awake. He saw the tiny shards of green stuck to the griffon's feathers that hadn't been absorbed. "Well, hello Pyron. Only dragons can absorb crystals, you know. The only ones around here are at the Temple. You little thief. I know that if you couldn't be Fire Guardian you had to get revenge. Don't take it out on my citizens, take it out on ME!" Spyro said. "Well, I don't know why you had a problem with my being Fire Guardian, Spyro..." The griffon,Pyron, stated. "My mentor was the Fire Guardian, Pyro. He died in the fire that Malefor created to help get us past it!" Spyro answered. Then he lunged at the griffon, but his claws dug into Spyro's belly. "I want to give you a fair fight!" Spyro said. "Really? Because I thought this was too easy," Pyron said. Then Spyro took the griffon (which was much smaller than an almost young adult dragon) by the back in his jaws, and walked into the temple. The beast was struggling and Spyro was only grinning. He called all the dragons out and set the griffon down in the middle of the room. "This little thief is Pyron, the dragon who was going to be Fire Guardian, disguised as a griffon. When I.. err.. told him he couldn't, he came in and took all the green crystals and absorbed them so that they could not be replaced," Spyro said. They all gasped. "Kill him!" "Blast ice all over him so he can't move and insult him!" And "I wonder how griffon tastes..." Could be heard. "Silence!" Spyro bellowed. "If you want the beast dead, I assure you it will be difficult. Are you sure you wouldn't rather keep it prisoner?" Spyro said. "No!" "Kill it!" Was the reply. But when they all looked back to it, it had turned back into Pyron and broken a hole in the roof, which he flew out of. "PYRON!" Spyro yelled and flew out after him. But Pyron hit Spyro in the face with his tail and Spyro fell down on the roof. He started to dream...

Chapter 6
Chronicler: Spyro... you've let Malefor get to you, even in death... the dark dragon will never find peace... He will always be dark, Spyro, always after you.... Spyro: But I don't want to be evil, like him, Chronicler... please... Chronicler: You have no choice. You've already worn the armor. It's written. But... there is still hope... Spyro: Hope? How? I have already let this... thing take over me... Chronicler: If you take it off, Spyro, leave it.. the power feels good... but don't let it get you... or you will be destroyed forever...... Spyro: No! I'll lose everything, please don't do this... Chronicler: Your destiny awaits you at the Well of Souls. Pyron was serving Malefor and heard his orders. Malefor is still locked in the Well Of Souls.... never to be free.... Spyro: OK, I'll go. Do I bring anyone? Chronicler: If you like. I doubt that will make a difference. Bring Cynder. But I wouldn't think anyone else besides your apprentices would help... Spyro: Ok, Cynder, Ruby, Incinera, and Phantom are coming. Chronicler: Very well. A party of five should be enough. Spyro: WAIT! Don't go... Chronicler: What more can I tell you? Spyro: Who are you?! You don't sound like the Chronicler... Chronicler: You'll soon find out... Spyro hopped from platform to platform until he reached the Library. There he opened a book, and it spoke of all the dragon's lives. He found... Ignitus... Spyro: So Ignitus really is dead...... Chronicler: Not forever, he is alive and well, and very near... The Chronicler stepped over to Spyro. Spyro: Ignitus??? Chronicler: Yes, hello Spyro.

Chapter 7
Spyro awoke with a start. He gathered the apprentices who had been trained to a little more than the average level, which was surprising for their age. They quickly flew to the Well of Souls where Pyron was waiting, but he wasn't there. "What the-" Spyro growled. "We've been tricked!" Who said you were to come now... to the Well of Souls? "I don't think we were supposed to come now. Let's head back and tell the other dragons everything," Spyro told them. When they arrived back the dragons were waiting worriedly. They told them their plan and they approved. When everyone had gone to their rooms for the night, Spyro went to visit the Healer. "Hello, there!" Spyro greeted, slowly walking to her. She just ducked her head away. "Are you alright?" Spyro asked. She just walked away to inspect some red crystals and yellow potions. "What's wrong?" She walked to him but said nothing. She really is beautiful, what is she doing here as a Healer? Spyro wondered. "Won't you talk?" Spyro asked. He had forgotten to take off the crystal armor piece as he awoke from his dream with the Chronicler. "WHAT'S WRONG?!" Spyro demanded. She said nothing but stared straight at him with gold, sincere eyes. She rushed to his face and rubbed her cheek against his. Why won't she talk? Spyro wondered. "Will you speak to me?" Spyro asked. He found a scroll in the corner of her room. "What's this?" He asked, unrolling it and spreading it out on the ground. The Legacy of Healing Red gems are beautiful, wondrous sources of healing. There's nothing like them. It truly is amazing how dragons can draw energy just from crystals. However if not applied soon enough a life can be lost... so take care, and heal quickly. The first thing you should do in healing is to make sure the dragon has a surface to lie on. Numb the wounds with ice vapor OR wind breath, or no element at all if you do not possess one of the two. Then be sure to take a cloth or towel/rag and dab at the wounds. Put red crystals on them. Allow it to sit for a couple of minutes. Make sure you removed the armor at the beggining. After putting red crystals, bind the wounds with gauze or cloth. Make sure the wounded get rest before they leave. Give them a potion to relieve them of pain if they do need it. Be careful with this, tell them the correct dose they need. For hatchling dragons: about one cup For young dragons: about two cups (remember, they're dragons with a fairly large size, a cup could be a teaspoon ) For teenish dragons: about 2 pints (:3) For Young Adult Dragons: 1 quart For Adult Dragons: 1 gallon (O.O" ) For Elder Dragons: ... 4 gallons. (BWAHAHA! These elderly dragons are large o.O) For VERY elder dragons: ... 8 gallons. (Is this accurate? Please do not take doses of yellow potion. They probably do not exist and if they did are not good for you, only for dragons ) For Ancient Dragons: 2 barrels <("o.O;')> You can see that it is very simple, but healers need to be pure of heart. Most healers do not speak. Herbs can be used for sicknesses. (please do not use this x.x, especially if you have allergic reactions) A honey, warm water, and chamomile can be ingrediants to make a tea which is good for most colds. (Again, it is not ensured that this mixutre above ^ will be tasty OR will work. Do not take without permission or especially if you have allergic reactions to it) "So you don't speak?" Spyro asked. The Healer said nothing. (The reason I put up all those warnings is so people don't, like, take it. I know chamomile tea probably wont harm you but I don't want allergic people taking it and getting sick D:< you never ever know, I would like to be safe :3)

"What is your name?" Spyro asked again.
She pointed to another scroll on the shelf. LERA A HEALER OF RESPECT AND KINDNESS SHE KNOWS THE WAYS OF HEALING AND HAS SAVED MANY SHE IS SILENT AND CARING AND SHE NEVER WILL LET ONE GO WITHOUT TRYING TO SAVE THEM SHE TRULY IS A HEALER A WORTHY HEALER, WHO DESERVES RESPECT. "Your name is Lera?" Spyro said. The Healer looked warmly at him. "So Lera, where are you from?" THE WHITE DRAGON FAMILY THESE BEAUTIFUL WHITE DRAGONS WERE ORIGINALLY A FAMILY IN AVALAR THEY ENCHANTED AND CREATED PEACE AROUND THEM. BUT SOON THEY WERE DRIVEN OUT OF THEIR LANDS BY THE WYVERNS WHO TOOK THE PLACE. THEY LEFT TO WARFANG AND THEIR ONLY DAUGHTER, LERA, BECAME THE HEALER OF THE TEMPLE. THE SONS BECAME WORTHY WARRIORS AND SERVED WARFANG WELL THEY ARE STILL THERE AND WORKED HARD IN THE WAR THEY ARE TRAINED WARRIORS WHO DESERVE RESPECT. THIS DRAGON FAMILY IS KIND AND MODEST, HOWEVER THE FEMALES ARE SHY. LERA'S COUSIN IS A HEALER AS WELL, SHE LIVES IN WARFANG. / Spyro read the scroll aloud. "So Lera, you're from Avalar?" he asked. She looked at him. "You sure you won't speak? Lera?" Spyro asked. "I don't speak often, Spyro. I will speak when I must.," Lera said. Spyro was stunned. The dragon's voice was so pure... What is it I feel for her? I love Cynder... but I don't think I love Lera. Spyro thought. "I have to go. I'll be back soon," Spyro said. He still had forgotten to take off the crystal. Well... not really forgotten... he liked the crystal... he needed it. He flew out the Temple and expanded the territory into the forest, claiming it with a bellowing roar. All the other creatures that would have challenged a dragon flew off in fear, this one seemed powerful. After the griffons and serpents had left, Spyro was satisfied.

Chapter 8
Spyro was walking around the Temple, his claws clicking against the stone floor. "Is there any news??" Spyro asked. "A group of grublins has created a village outside of the Temple. I think we should be worried," a dragon reported. "Thank you, I'll head there straight away," Spyro said. He finally took off the crystal, but it almost pained him to do so... He flew out of the Temple and across the forest, scanning for the village. "This is taking forever!" Spyro sighed. But then he saw a ridge of mountains that almost created a bowl, with one crack as an opening. He flew over the mountains and inside. It was surrounded and perfect for a fortress. Soon, in a large clearing surrounded by green trees, he saw the village. It was hardly a village; there were falling tents, weapons on the dirt ground, and small campfires about to go out. It would burn beautifully but its full of crystals and wealth, and Spyro couldn't risk losing green crystals, especially if they had some. "Send out your leader, or I'll explode the entire camp!" Spyro roared. Two grublins ran off to get to their leader. "Well well well, it's the purple dragon... the one the Dark Master had wanted dead..." The leader said. "I have a name," Spyro muttered. "What is it you want?" The leader asked. "You are trying to create a force to attack the Temple." Spyro said. "How did you know?" The grublin chuckled. He called out his army, which was about 50 grublins. "Attack!" All the grublins rushed at Spyro. From behind there were archers shooting at him. Spyro flicked four grublins away with his tail and bit another in half. Then he had some room to take off, but the archers were shooting his wings. His wings hadn't been penetrated yet but it was difficult to fly and get away from them. He soon had made it into the Temple, and the army was still in the mountain. "There's an entire army marching toward us!" Spyro gasped. The dragons all ran, the mothers took their children to their rooms and the stronger dragons put on their armor. Cynder got Phantom. "Remember what I told you, we have to inflict fear upon the enemy!" Cynder told Phantom as they perched on the roof of the Temple. Cynder was already outfitted in silver armor and her apprentice had a red cloak on, which had chainmail underneath. Phantom was to fly over the army and send out Siren Screams and Phantom Fear. But for now they waited. Spyro slipped into his armor, which was silver. The pieces went over his back, one on his chest, bracers for his front and back legs, and a bracer-like armor that went on his tail. It was made of several pieces that went over each other and got smaller and smaller to fit his tail. His helmet had holes for his horns and eyes, but didn't cover his lower jaw, so he was free to snap, breathe fire, and grab enemies. The upper jaw area had holes for his nostrils. After what seemed like hours of waiting, hundreds of grublins came into sight. Dozens of archers marched in the front with axemen behind them. Flying grublins were on the sides. It was a rather organized square formation. The archers were to weaken the dragons, the axemen to kill and further weaken. The grublins would be attacking the entire time, the flying ones in the air to swoop down and hit dragons with their clubs. Sparx zipped over to Spyro. Sparx had little armor, but he had a sling of which he was going to throw spearheads with. "Sparx, what are you doing?" Spyro asked. "I'm going to help you!" He said. So Sparx stayed at Spyro's side. Five dragons swooped down from the Temple roof and grabbed grublins and bit them in half. They dropped the lower half and continued to fly and kill grublins, but they were shot by archers, and two died. Five Earth dragons came out, and signaled for Phantom and Cynder, who Screamed on the grublins. They were stunned and crouched in fear, and Cynder and Phantom flew up in the air, high enough to avoid archers, but hover to see if they had to stun anymore enemies. Once that group was stunned, the five Earth dragons created a boulder around themselves and let themselves drop on the stunned grublins. They repeated the process two more times with Cynder and Phantom, but it seemed as though they hardly made a difference. Spyro was hitting enemies with his claws and blasting fire over them, while Sparx was defending Spyro from upcoming enemies by shooting at them. (*Giggles* Like a Sparx Shooter game from the Original Series! ) Enemies that charged to Spyro soon fell. After a minute of this, Spyro had grublins all over him and Sparx was trying to get rid of them. There were still hundreds of enemies in the army, practically thousands. He flew into the air with Sparx and shook off the enemies. As he looked around dragons were swooping down and killing enemies, Earth dragons were coughing boulders at archers, and Cynder was breathing shadow on the flying grublins so they attacked each other. Phantom was busy attacking a grublin; she couldn't handle more than one. Spyro's apprentices were flying next to him, and Ruby was blasting fireballs down. But it still wasn't enough. Spyro swooped down and flew straight across the army, breathing massive fire blasts on them.

About thirty grublins were on fire, spreading it to ten more before it was put out. The battlefield was burning and for every thirty grublins dead there was a dragon corpse on the ground. Spyro saw Lera come out, and she was shot in the chest almost immediately. "NO!" Spyro bellowed. He rose into the air, and a column of fire surrounded him. He pushed out his front paws and fire rained down, and an explosion came from him. A hundred grublins died from this. "Lera!" Spyro roared. He couldn't get to her right now; he was battling. Spyro bit up a grublin and saw Cynder dropping a corpse of what remained of the grublin she had in her jaws. Terrador had three struggling grublins in his claws, and he shot them with a boulder. A dragon had two struggling grublins in his jaws, and blood was streaming from them. "That... is disgusting!" Sparx said, revolted. They continued to move on, tearing and biting grublins. They looked back to see if the dragon needed any help but he didn't have the grublins anymore. Sparx looked disgusted. A large troll came around and hit two dragons with his massive paws. "Oh no..." Spyro said.

The two dragons died, their chests crushed in. "....Dear-" Sparx said but was cut off as he had to duck a blow from the monster's enormous arm. Spyro rushed up to it and stunned it with a quick bolt of lightning. Thankful that thing was stopped for a couple of seconds, he created a boulder around himself in the air above the monster, and fell down on it. The troll was wounded badly, but it managed to roll and shake Spyro off. The boulder shattered around him. Two dragons came from a dark cloud in the sky. "We have come to avenge the Dark Master! You will die NOW!" They chanted in unison. They rushed down at Spyro, but were intercepted by Cynder. The graceful black dragon swooped down in front of them and clawed their faces, and swiftly dodged. She was built almost like a serpent, with a long tail, a long neck, and a thin body. (look at my freaking avatar xD) They missed her when they blasted out with flames as she had already dodged. Once they snapped their jaws shut and finished flaming, Cynder slapped them in their faces with her tail, sending them flying for the ground. Spyro flapped over to the two and breathed a blast of fire on them. They got up and shakily fell to the ground. "You're stronger than we expected. However we'll be back again shortly. The leader will have us here again in no time. We'll be back later with reinforcements," One of the dragons said casually. "What?" Spyro asked. "Well, we're about to die. We'll be back soon. You haven't killed us forever." The other answered. "Umm... ok?" Sparx said uncertainly. The dragons died in a few seconds, and their bodies dissappeared. "What the heck was that?" Spyro asked Cynder. "Whoever is leading these armies is bringing his commanders back to life with energy," Cynder replied. There were still few enemies left on the battlefield. Spyro and Cynder flew over to them and whacked them with their tails, bit, scratched, flamed, terrified, and attacked them. Once all the remaining enemies had fled, Spyro flapped over to the Temple steps. Countless bodies littered the ground, a quarter of them dragon bodies. Spyro padded over to Cynder. "We've lost so many brave dragons..." Spyro said sadly. "They won the battle. They would've been proud of us, Spyro," Cynder replied. "I hope so.." He said back, concerned for the rest of the dragons. "Cynder go see if any are still alive..." Spyro told her. She went to check the dragons and see if they could be helped. Spyro quickly charged to Lera. "Are you still.. alive?" Spyro asked her. She nodded painfully.
