I find it sometimes confusing when you are posting and someone posts one second before you. So whatever you say seems out of place. This usually happens in RP's, but it can happen in other places. So what I was thinking was...

Could there be a New Post Warning Mechonism? Like what I mean is, if you post something, and someone posts before you, it will tell you. That way, you can change your post and know if someone has posted before you.

It is very difficult when it comes to a Situation where you reply to somebody directly and somebody posts before you. However, there is the Edit and Quote button. If the message looks like it is for the incorrect user, you could just copy the quote box into the message.

I know what you mean, Wikipedia does the same thing, but regardless, edit button was made for a reason.
