Hey! Newcomer to DarkSpyro forums, though I've known about the site for some time. As it stands, I've done a lot of Spyro fanart, and will probably be making a lot more. This seems like a good place to post it.

Up first...

Older pic of Spyro, which was done in OpenCanvas...almost a year ago now, wow. While I doodled about in OC, this was the first one I inked and colored in it, which kinda makes it special, I guess? I gave him brown eyes, 'cause I think he looks better with them than purple eyes.


Sorry if it's hard to see. I'll admit, I'm neutral on Cynder. Neutral leaning towards lukewarm, anyway. But I friggin' LOVE her design. Srsly, I couldn't stop drawing it in my senior year of high school. O.o I think her evil version from A New Beginning is my favorite version of her.

Elora, done in Sketchbook Pro, which was recently released free at the Mac App store. SCORE.


OC inks that I might color some day. I'd like it more, if I hadn't friggin' drawn him on the edge of the page. His poor horns...Oh well. And yeah, I know his teeth don't look like that, and no creature on earth really has them like that. I kinda gave up on them, and just did what I wanted.


And finally, the only really finished thing here. This was my entry for Just For Faun's Easter contest, and the first real digital painting I ever did, complete with background and story and stuff. I can see all the mistakes I made now, but it was so much fun, I don't really care.

A Legend of Spyro fancharacter, though I'm working on an Insomniac Trilogy version of her, as well. Her name is Magna, and she's an Earth elemental. She was the Earth Guardian before Terrador. She died in combat against the Dark Armies of apes. My brown marker was going dry.

The colored and inked version of the Bianca sketch up there. :3 I like Bianca a lot, too; she's actually one of my favorite Spyro characters. Of the gigantic cast in every single universe, I think she went through the greatest amount of character development.

Decided to give Ember a Legend of Spyro design, which comes with a beak, extra horns, and ornate flame markings. In my own little headcanon, she would have been one of Spyro's many rookery siblings, had her egg not been one of hundreds destroyed. She would have been a fire elemental, and one of Ignitus's students.

I've mentioned before that the release of Skylanders information and the challenge to create our own characters sparked tons of ideas for me, and I came up with dozens of characters. I've already posted one on this site; here are some others.


This is a chimera, a creature made up of several other creatures, traditionally a lion, a goat and a snake. (The creature is usually a lion with a snake for a tail and a goat's head in the middle of its spine, and is usually a female, but this is my character and what I say goes, so there ) This is Bill and Bob, or Billy-Bob, if you prefer. Bill is the snake head; Bob is the lion head. Bob is smug and prideful, and tends to not think about what he's saying or doing. Bill is cynical, cautious, and much more prone to holding grudges. They argue frequently; Bob usually wins these arguments, since he controls most of the body, but Bill has a venomous bite (which Bob is immune to) and the tendency to not shut up (which Bob is NOT immune to). Unfortunately, he's usually right, which means that even if Bob wins, he loses. I honestly have no idea what their element would be--maybe magic, since there's no other way they could possibly exist?--or what their abilities would be. I just had to get this idea out of my head.


This is Necrona. Inversely to Billy-Bob, I know what her element is (Undead >), but not what her species is, other than that it is vaguely crocodilian and reptilian. No longer being alive has its perks; being able to call spirits from realms beyond is pretty cool, and not being able to get killed by conventional means is useful, but the fact remains that she hasn't quite recovered from the trauma of being dragged from one realm to the next. Which is why she has that haunted look in her eyes.


This is a minotaur. Her element is tech. Her name...well, I haven't picked out a name for her yet. For now, I've been calling her Mina. Tall, strong and silent, no one really knows much about her, other than that she has more strength than anyone might guess. She might be hiding a heart of gold beneath that intimidating exterior, but then, she might also be hiding a great deal of rage. No one may ever know, or wish to.
